So, you have never taken the test? Not that I would recommended any online MBTI tests, most of them are notoriously bad.

My guess is he suggested ESFP based on type descriptions, some of which rely heavily on stereotypes and behavioral patterns rather then focusing on the cognitive processes.

I did, and most of them ended with ENFJ, ENFP, or some random MBTI. But maybe I should give it a try again, the last I did was... 2 years ago?

Your top three were my top three guesses about your enneagram lol and you got SO instinctual variant too.
Enneagram 2 is strongly correlated with extraverted feeling. It’s most common type for ESFJs and ENFJs, then ISFJs and a small % of INFJs too. There are some ESFPs type 2, the most common type for them is 7 though. You could take the MBTI test again, but I really don't know any good ones online to recommend.

Any fictional characters/celebrities you relate to?

Hmm... The only one I can relate to; but not 100%, is Shane Dawson.

I can relate to his dramaticnsss, his ability to sympathize, his ability to crack jokes and the emotional side of him.

But of course values and perspective on things is different.

Can’t help you there, I don’t know his type. Can you think of anyone else? (It could also be fictional characters from movies/series/books etc.)

You’ve mentioned your ability to sympathize, both Fe and Fi users can both sympathize and empathize with others, however sympathy is mostly correlated with Fe, empathy with Fi.
