Am I Really INFP?

INFP
For most of my life I have typed as INFP. During my undergraduate years in my late 20s and early 30s, I was INTP for a time. I am sometimes ISTP. I don't know why. When I read about functions, I think I am most like the INFP. I am very aware of my feelings and why I feel the way I do, and I apply that to understand others, too.
About me: I like lots of alone time. I love to read. When I was younger, I was preferred fiction, but now mostly non, as the internet has hurt my ability to focus and concentrate. I am big on social justice. I can't stand injustice. I have been known to speak out about it (well on the internet), to the detriment of my career (people actually tattle. Grownups tattle!). People have told me I have no filter (not true, I just think it is important to be honest). I am told I have a great heart. I crave people and social events, but am unpopular and get frustrated when I don't get lots of time to myself. My ENFJ husband has been known to follow me around, but I never need that from him. I am thrilled when the room is all mine. I am very logical most of the time, but I am also an easy crier on sentimental things (but I hide my feelings towards others-this is the area where I may seem dishonest, because I don't like to show my cards).

I guess sometimes I think I must be a sensor because I am not nearly as creative as the people around me. My husband, my siblings are all teeming with amazing new ideas, and I am over here like, daydreaming about a crush or something. I love clothes and decorating too. And nice things. I love nice things. I am a teacher, and while I love lesson planning and I care deeply about the kids, I am actually sort of a crappy teacher, I think. I hate repeating things and slowing down. I always want to jump on to the next thing.

Can anyone give me any insight into my weirdness?

Umm I dont mean to judge Jill, but is that normal married behaviour?? Ive never been married so it might be no big deal. But you might want to look into that.

Also

Big up yourself! Im quite sure you arent a crappy teacher. The mere fact you love lesson planning and feel deeply about your kids shows you CARE. That already puts you far far far above genuinely crap teachers who are just picking up a paycheck and arent really invested in their job.

As regards to typology - if you say youve mostly typed INFP throughout your life, you probably are. You say you might be a sensor but only because of the absence of intuitive traits, rather than the existence of sensor traits. Its more likely that youre lacking self esteem about your intuition.

Yeah, crushes are pretty normal among married folks. At least after the first few years, at least among those people I know who are honest. I guess the others might not be dishonest..but I doubt it. Just have to realize what they are: idealized and based on imagination, not reality. And don't act on it.

Well, that's discouraging. People keep saying INFPs are rainbows and butterflies and dreamy and sweet , and that is just dull. I want someting interesting and/or adventurous like ENTP or ISTP or something. Sigh.

:D You should meet my INFP friend. Aint exactly the dreamy butterflies type :D More of a tricksy, playful, sometimes very dark outsider. And Im talking watching gore porn and joking about the holocaust dark. Keeps his soft introverted feeling side fairly well hidden.

I'm pretty sure you're an ENFP, based on the function order I see manifested in your OP. In particular, this line, your opening one:

For most of my life I have typed as INFP. During my undergraduate years in my late 20s and early 30s, I was INTP for a time. I am sometimes ISTP. I don't know why. When I read about functions, I think I am most like the INFP. I am very aware of my feelings and why I feel the way I do, and I apply that to understand others, too.

strikes me more as Ne than as Fi.

- your first paragraph (that I quoted) seems to focus on possibilities (Ne)
- the second starts with personal preferences and qualities (Fi). At some point it turns into Te, perhaps when you mention what others have told you.
- the third paragraph has a more concrete vibe, mentioning concrete features of your life (Si)
- the final statement asks for insights, indicating that you primarily seek Ni

You might want to look into some of the other tests. MBTI is just one of many tests which can give you insight into your preferences.
I'm an INFP. I am very much rainbows and butterflies lol. I do have a dark side, but I keep it to myself. The idea of having a room to myself sounds like a nightmare- as does a yearning for adventure.

I COMPLETELY understand "I love lesson planning and I care deeply about the kids... I hate repeating things and slowing down."
I have 4 kids (08/1992, 08/1994, 11/1995, 12/1996 lol) I would come up with and write out all sorts of plans. I HATED trying to implement them though. And I despised having to repeat myself a million times. I HATED having to "hold their hand" through basic tasks or having to oversee them to make sure they actually did it.
I never really felt a need to rush off to the next thing, though. I like to dwell on one topic at a time, exploring it completely to make sure it's thoroughly understood.

Here's some other tests, if you haven't found them already:
