Are you really that schizoid though? I mean, I dunno that you are that blocked from others. Maybe if you were sexual first, but idk man.

And why not 4?

I think I'm gonna have to think about this some more.

459? 469?

I mean, at a surface glance, I do have some schizoid traits, but perhaps not as severe as I think. That sort of thing seems relative, and it may not seem as obvious or extreme to other people

Pluvio RooibosKrayfish

Another Krayfish questionnaire except this time, I haven't filled it out (yet)! I've filled out a ton of questionnaires and typed a lot of people, and these are some of the questions I've found to be most helpful. If you use it, please don't post your responses on this thread and also don't worry about credits because I don't care enough for that and lets face it, this probably isn't super unique. I may or may not edit this to add more questions/fix errors

Feedback would also be nice

1) Context:
a) What is your age range and general location (Country so that cultural values can be taken into account)? Do you have any impairments that may affect the way that you answer this questionnaire? Any religious or political beliefs (or anything else along those lines) that also might have an effect?

I am in my late 30s and I live in the eastern USA. No significant impairments that I am aware of. I am an agnostic (about a 5 or a 6 on the Dawkins Scale) and politically independent, with a range of views too complicated to easily sort under labels like "left"/"right" or "liberal"/"conservative". Strong libertarian streak, but I've been known to take a more socialist stance on certain things. Socially liberal for the most part, live and let live attitude

b) Which types are you currently considering? Why are you considering them and why haven’t you decided on one?

INTP, INFP, ISFJ, ENTP, INFJ, ISTP, ISFP. 9, 5, and 6. I think I value Ti, Ne, Si and Fe but I tend to second-guess myself a lot and wonder if I actually value Fi.

2) What do you deem as your purpose in life?

I don't do well with "purpose" questions. I mean, what is anyone's purpose but to breathe, eat, and reproduce? Or are those just instincts I am listing? I suppose every person finds their own purpose, although sometimes that purpose is also determined by their station in society and the roles they fall into either by choice or by chance. I am a father, so that has become a sort of purpose for me, to ensure I raise someone who will be open-minded but also skeptical, and hopefully will exceed me in intelligence and happiness. Sometimes I think one of my purposes is to call bullshit whenever I see it

3) Of the seven deadly sins, which one(s) do you relate to the most and the least and why?

Probably sloth and gluttony are most relatable to me. I have a tendency to become very apathetic and disillusioned with the world. I can also be prone to inaction, which also technically falls under sloth. I sometimes go through phases where I overindulge in food, drugs/alcohol, etc., which I find often goes hand in hand with my apathy and disillusionment. I probably relate least to wrath. Not to say I am incapable of those sorts of feelings, but I more often than not tend to let that stuff go, to forgive and forget after a certain duration of time. I'm also not an overly prideful person, and if anything I would be the opposite, with a tendency to short sell myself, to downplay any abilities and accomplishments.

4) Analyzing your relationships with others, briefly describe:

a) The type of people you are drawn to

Intelligent, weird and quirky people. I don't really seek out friends much. I'm a lone wolf most of the time.

b) The type of people who are drawn to you

Usually intelligent and quirky people.

c) The type of people you are repulsed by

Idiots, i.e. people who accept things like "common knowledge" or frequently make appeals to authority, popularity and tradition as justification for upholding, following, practicing or believing otherwise nonsensical or idiotic tenets and practices. People who seem to be afraid to think for themselves, who seem prone to following the status quo without an ounce of skepticism or critical thought.

5)What are the traits in others that you admire but you cannot emulate yourself? Elaborate.

I wish I could be more engaging with people, be a more socially adept individual.

6) Describe your relationship with the following:

a) Anger

It's something that I might experience a lot, but I wouldn't say it consumes me or sticks around for extended periods. When I experience it, it usually comes in brief flashes. I think it can be a useful emotion if properly channeled. It's rare that I go into all-out rage mode, but when I do, it's not pretty, and I don't like seeing that side of myself. I think it can be an addictive feeling for a lot of people.

b) Shame

I strongly dislike this emotion, although I would say it hasn't played as prominent an influence on my psyche as fear, anger and other negative emotions. In some ways I am pretty shameless about things I've done (i.e. past sexual escapades)

c) Fear

It depends. I hate the crippling fear of social anxiety, but I enjoy the brief flashes of fear that can come with exploring and trying new or sometimes risky things. Not that I am a huge physical risk taker, but there is always at least a small element of fear or apprehension that comes with trying new things, but for me, that is generally overridden or outweighed by the excitement and curiosity I feel. I'm extremely adventurous, except where other people are concerned, then I want to bury my head in the sand and remain solitary when the social fears overtake me.

d) Love/passion

I have vacillated between being a romantic and being a cold, emotionless robot in this area. Like anger, this is something that needs to be channeled in a healthy manner.

e) Conflict

I tend to avoid it but I am not afraid of conflict if I am challenging someone's authority or logic.

7) What are some of the themes that have played a prominent role in your life (ie. A struggle you’ve been unable to conquer, ect)?

Being too indecisive, noncommittal and prone to inaction.

8) Answer only one of the following:

a) [College aged and above] What is your area of work/study? Why did you choose this and would you change it? If so, what would be your ideal?

In college I was drawn to history, psychology, anthropology, religious studies.

b)[Under college aged] What do you plan on studying/working as in the future? How did you go about deciding this? If this is not your ideal area of pursuit, what would be?

9) When meeting a new person, what do you tend to focus on?

the ground...just kidding (because I am poor at making eye contact). I usually focus on their words, although sometimes it's hard not to notice particularly quirky mannerisms and inflections

10) How do you feel about humanity as a whole? What do you feel are some of the biggest problems the human race faces and why?

I think we're just hairless apes and we still have a long way to go. I think the likelihood of us destroying ourselves is high, but I also think we're a remarkably adaptable species that can overcome a lot of challenge and hardship. Our capacity for evil is troubling, but then we are also roughly equally capable of good. I think stagnation is a danger for us, but I also think our push for progress can be problematic when we aren't really sure what we're progressing towards and it just becomes progress for the sake of progress, because that's when we are more likely to fall into "progress traps" (to borrow the term from an author) wherein our progression forward can sometimes create unintended problems that are greater than those from which we were progressing (i.e. massive deforestation, giant patches of plastic in the ocean, superviruses adapted to resist our medical advancements).

11) What are some of your hobbies and interests?

I like to read when I have the time. I enjoy videogames. I make my own music. I have always had an amateurish interest in history and anthropology (being somewhat a xenophile).

13) How do you usually “hang out” with your friend(s)? When answering, think about what activities you tend to choose, whether you hang out with one person at once or many, whether or not you initiate the interaction.

I don't have any friends.

14) What is more important, actions or words? Why?

Probably actions, because one can say they love puppies whilst stomping on puppies. That seems kind of fucked up to me.

15) Oh dear, you’ve been cursed by a witch! It’s ok though, you get a choice on which curse you will receive. Will you choose….

a) To never be able to experience the sensation of taste
b) To be immortal
c) To lose your memories
d) To be poor for the rest of your life
e) Or to never experience passion
Elaborate on why!

Immortality will give me infinite time to learn and pursue interests. Also, I'd like to be around to see how things play out, to see what happens to humans, the earth, to see what happens to the universe.

16) What do you hope to avoid being? If it helps, describe a person who embodies what you avoid/you as a villain, ect.

I would like to avoid losing any curiosity or interest in the world. That's where I tend to go when I get depressed, and it's a miserable, pointless state of being.

17) How do you relate to obsession? Do you tend to "merge" with others or your interests? How do you feel about the idea of doing this?

I get very obsessed over new interests, whether it be a new topic or a musician I have discovered. In the past I was very prone to wanting to "merge" with others, with the idea of things like soulmates, to the point that I may have scared off a few females and friends. Now I keep that shit under wraps, I don't really like to put myself out there like that. I've also been burned a bit by people who would pretend to be a friend but then use revelations of my interests and feelings to hurt me. So I've really slammed most people out of my life in that regard.

18) Organized or messy? Plans and blueprints or impulse and surprises? What are you preferences and tendencies?

Halfway, a controlled chaos. As long as I know where to find things. Impulses and surprises, although a very rough plan or itinerary isn't a bad thing, as long as it's flexible.

19) How do you subjectively view comfort and how do you create comfort in your life and surroundings?

I'm pretty restless in that regard. I can be laying in a bed covered in comfortable blankets, but as soon as I wake up, my brain is usually racing with thoughts. The only problem is that my body has to catch up, coffee is needed. Still, in general, although I am prone to being lazy and slothful, I find it very hard to ever fully relax, like I always want to be looking ahead to the next thought or experience, thinking about whatever has been on my mind, etc

As my vote suggests, I believe you are an INFJ. I think that's the third time I've typed you that way now?

Check for yourself: the first paragraph of your posts often mention a pattern, and the second paragraph will then be socially related.

Like any INFJ though, you would have an ISTP alter-ego, so if you're making a non-serious post then it would begin with either the Ti or Se.

Thanks. It’s not often that people type me INxJ but this has given me a lot to think about

Wow you're a tough one. Had to go through it twice to get anything correct out of this despite you filling out this with more detail than most.
I feel confident saying INTP and suggesting the 593 tritype, being more specific 5w6 9w8 3w4. Im struggling a bit to see if 5w6 or 9w8 fits more, but you don't seem to have the silent gravitas of 9w8. You do however have the dry humor and speaking style I consider typical with 5s, so I'll go with that for the moment. I put both in your voting pool. Iv im at a loss with, though I'm almost certain you're not Soc blind. Sp/so seems most plausible?
Im going to elaborate on this more a bit later, I was bored waiting for classes and wanted to do something so... you'll get quotes later

Alright, so your IV still alludes me. I was playing with a lot of possibilities to see what might make most sense and here's what I came up with in order of perceived likelihood:

1) INTP 5w6 (593) sp/so: I found a couple of places in here where I distinctly thought I saw soc. You seem to be more on the introverted side and seem to be motivated heavily based on curiosity with hints of anxiety underlying everything, which points to a head core. You don't really have the 9w8 tone of speaking (see RGB for reference).

2) INTP 5w6 (593) so/sx: Superficially, this looks like an idiot suggestion because I just suggested sp dom. Still, it was my initial impression that you were sp blind and the only examples of your IV I could supposedly point out in my analysis were examples of soc. I also noted 7 influence several times and, unless I'm stupidly mistaking Ne for 7 (which is unfortunately entirely possible), soc 5 is said to have the strongest line of the 5s to 7 without necessarily be disintegrated. You're a strong perciever and, despite you scoring very strongly introverted test wise, you don't seem that introverted. 5s always seem sp, which may be creating the IV confusion (unless I'm the only one having it).

3) ENTP 5w6 (593) sp/sx: All this soc I'm pointing out could be me just being dumb and mistaking Fe for soc.

Yeah, so sorry for being indefinite, I'm hoping some of this is at least helpful, you've been getting a lot of responses anyhow.

Is it normal to view one's body as some sort of weird appendage hanging below our center-mind? Is this how most people see themselves? I have always felt like my physical body is this sort of weird extra feature just hanging under my mind. My true self resides within my head. I wonder if this impression would also be useful in determining type. The only times I have really felt completely at home and truly inside my physical body have been during zen meditation, where I became more acutely aware of my physical extremities and the surrounding environment. Otherwise, I live inside of my head, barely alert to the physical world. My imagination fires a lot. I can be staring at a stupid motivational poster on the wall at work but my mind will be conjuring snowcapped mountain peaks and nebulas or imagined scenarios where I envision myself having a conversation or debate with someone.

It's how a lot of people see themselves. I doubt that most do, to that high a degree.

It would seem more odd if you viewed your body as a weird appendage growing out of your toes. On the other hand, since you talked about meditating, you could try imagining that and see what happens.

Jordan Peterson mentioned feeling like his sense of self was centered in his head, and he asked his class if they experienced theirs that way as well. Some of them said they felt their sense of self to be located in their chests.

I wonder is Indiana Jones felt his sense of self in his chest. If so, it must have been especially terrifying when Mola Ram tried to tear his heart out.

At around 2:00?

Cadavers' chests showing location of heart:

Those are with the ribs removed. I think he aimed too high on the chest, plus, the rib cage was in the way, even if he tried to claw directly over the heart.

I guess he could have been going for the aorta.

Perhaps, but he had -3 plot logic and +6 strength which made the feat possible.

However, this was countered by Indy's +10 title character stats, which effectively made Indy invincible.

It does seem like a rather 5 like thing to wonder.

I don't think I've ever thought of myself that way.
