I'm interested in being typed via the questionnaires.

First questionnaire below (I chose this one because it seemed entertaining to answer)

1. During your youth (7'ish to 18), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?

I focussed on sport, hanging out with friends, and enjoyment. Things like homework, piano lessons, etc suffered.

2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you are looking back over the last couple of years. What was your favorite aspect of the schooling experience and why? Favorite subject and why?

Favourite aspect was friends, getting up to mischief, lunch time and after school sport. Favourite subject was math.

3. A couple of friends call and invite you out to a restaurant. While there, you all are pleasantly conversing and one of your friends makes a comment that irked you. What are you're thoughts and how do you respond?

If it's something I think is inappropriate I'll probably give a glance so they realise, or calm the conversation, or even just mention something to put them on my wavelength so they see the issue. Also intent matters. I'm not normally out to spoil the night for brownie points.

4. Your schooling is done and it's time to strike out into the world!! What sort of career do you want to go into and why?

Engineering because I love math and problem solving. Plus my Dad's an engineer.

5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to (your friend hints to it as well). Which one do you choose and why?

I choose the best. I'm not buying a cake for the wedding based on loyalty. If the well known cake maker is run of the mill they lose points. If the baker is not known for wedding cakes they lose lots of points and become a big risk.

6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?

That I let them win the argument. :) Indecisive or not assertive comes up a lot.

7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?

I generally chat some sense into them if I think they'll regret it tomorrow. If it's harmless or not my place, I'll just say are you sure or count myself out of involvement if it's not me, then hang out and enjoy the show.

8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?

There's no particular thing, you just know it when you see it. It's a connection maybe. Not particularly to the subject matter but from the artist to you.

9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?

Nice to drive. Does what I tell it too. I don't normally use tech as a fashion statement, so same would apply with cars unless the look was really classic. Wouldn't go for a huge or ugly car though.

10. Yep, you now have a kid (sex of your choosing)! Years pass and they are now 15 years old. You notice their personality traits are the complete opposite of how you were when at their age. Describe how they are. Describe the possible conflicts that would arise between both of you due to differing temperaments.

They question nothing. They think rules must always be followed, think in straight lines, and know what is right/wrong, good/evil, etc. They want to be part of the in crowd and don't appreciate difference.

I'd conflict with them because they'd be so certain when the world is so beautifully chaotic and grey, and I'd want to save them from the dullness and predictability that awaited them.

1. What is your favorite food? What's so great about it?

I love pasta. Maybe it's because it's tasty and you can use to it eat any sauce that's tasty.

2. Define justice!

I tend to see justice as when things work out well for all. Just actions would be those with the intent to achieve this. I don't see destruction of others or revenge as just.

The world isn't that perfect though and it becomes far more complex when one intends to harm or destroy others. Then I usually would be more about protecting those who don't have ill will.

3. Do you orientate by general directions or by landmarks?

Whichever works on the day. I don't really do set routine and repetition, more context and no situation is the same.

4. What did you like about your favorite story book from childhood?

Adventures. Journeys into the unknown.

5. What would you like to learn if time and money were no issue? Why?

Music and composing. I think I'd really enjoy it and it would be a good creative outlet to capture thoughts, dreams etc.

6. Can you roll your tongue?

Sort of.

7. Describe the inside of your fridge!

Food I find tasty. Fresh and healthy for meals, less healthy for snacks. Sometimes quite empty because I feel hungry and eat second or third dinners. No leftovers because I eat them all.

8. Convince the forum that pajama day should be a bank holiday.

In my country our convict forefathers wore striped pajamas, so it only seems right to celebrate pajama day.

INTP? I got most strongly Ti from this and a sense of Fe, but definitely not Se. At least, given this questionnaire. Other answers hinted off towards functions until forming a larger picture, but I won't get into the smaller details.

What got you interested in Personality Type?

Curiosity and self exploration. I was always interested in psychology to the point where when I saw a psychologist by the third session it would be an academic discussion analysing the state of my mind and me trying to help them do it.

What kind of work do you do for a living?

Patent attorney (physics, engineering and computer tech)

What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?

Not sure what others would think it was, but personally I probably value most the books I've filled with writing as I try to understand myself and the world.

What would constitute a perfect day for you?

Being in the outdoors. Sport, love, food and relaxing. No script.

What are you most grateful for in your life?

Having a good family, partner and friends. Being able to think and play sport. Living in a safe and well off country.

Is there something that you've dreamt of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?

I would love to understand music theory so I can compose it well. I haven't done it because I spend my spare time relaxing, with friends or procrastinating. I occasionally move slowly toward it.

If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

Maybe having stricter parents. I sometimes need some more drive and discipline.

Share an embarrassing moment in your life.

Too many of them to count :). Once I turned up late to my birthday because I was getting really good lab results for my thesis project and I was running out of time to finish. My friends ended up celebrating at the restaurant with my parents.

Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you're going to say? Why?

Never rehearse. I like to know the dot points sometimes if it's for work.

The idea of rehearsing word for word seems far too restrictive for a conversation. Maybe for a speech, but I'd still like to gauge the audience response and improvise.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one quality or ability, what would it be?

Time travel would be pretty cool.

What do you value most in a friendship?

Being able to be open and trusting. Being on the same wavelength.

What is your most treasured memory?

I tend to live in the future more than the past, and there's so much interesting and exciting that has happened in life. I'm not sure I could pick a particular memory.

What roles do love and affection play in your life?

Good ones. I like hugs, closeness, even just hanging out together doing whatever.

Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?

My books of writing (even though I have electronic backups). An armful of paper might not be the best thing to run through a fire with though :).

Who would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?

My partner. We'd probably just become island people.

Or else Wilson, because he could double as a friend and a soccer ball.

If you could do anything you wanted right now, what would it be?

Go travelling. Or if it isn't limited to present tech, go space travelling.

If money was no object, what would you do all day?

Enjoy life, skate, play hockey, learn new things, listen to music, travel.

Who is your favorite author?

I don't read fiction enough to have one.

What is your favorite book?

Same as above.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Figuring where I fit in society and the world.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?

I'd love to see The Beatles live in the 60s.

What does your life say about you?

It depends on who is judging. Life is life, not a statement.

How would your friends describe you?

Not sure. Talkative, maybe silly, occasionally dark or wrong for the fun of it. Depends on my mood.

Interesting. This shows maybe how interests might cloud other people's perception of one's type.

I'd say I share interests with many INTPs but with science my reasoning and approach to things seems very different. Not to the point where they would be calling me illogical like with some other types, rather they'll be sure of the answer more quickly and wondering why I don't fully agree yet, while I'll be looking for holes in their perception and thinking they've missed something or not accounted for an assumption (when they usually haven't missed anything). Maybe some give me their reasoning too briefly for me to know they have considered everything. They also trust their knowledge and reliable sources more, whereas I seem to be a sceptic and less trusting of things I haven't solved myself. We generally argue these points for a short time then are in agreement though.
