I would posit history is more of a Si-Ne thing than straight up N.

He sounds very ISTJ 6w5 to me as well with sp first.

Istj?
Define indecisive

Edit: ps- liking history/the past alot is more indicative of Si than N. Ns are usually future oriented people.
Types with highest Si are ISTJ and ISFJ then come ESTJ and ESFJ.

An ISTJs functions from are as follows: (simplifying)
Dominant Si: categorizes and uses past experience and events as his main "lense" through which to understand the world
2nd Te: looks at how things work from a "pratical" aspect. Ex: if you do x and y you get z
3rd Fi: related to emotions based on inner values first - the focus is on how he feels first, then the world
Last Ne: ideas
