I think every NFP has baby STJ in them- the matter is right subject/ situation and how much they will show or hide it. Funny how much people are shocked when I start to boss around.

hahaha yes yes and YES. Oh, and let's throw in some more yes while we're at it. I've told a few members on the forum already but being at work honestly brings out the ESTJ in me, for sure! I'm in a very "time is money" sort of environment and juggling multiple projects and consultants all the time. If I didn't bring out the old ESTJ Dreamer, things would crumble apart immediately. I also find I need like a half hour after I've gotten home that I return to regular Dreamer :D

Im an ISTJ 1 with a mini ENFP inside screaming for help because she cant escape the rigid ISTJ 1 bars that Ive built up.

This is half a joke half Im starting to wonder if in some ways is true... and if the opposite is true... my ISTJ 1 self is trying, not commobly effectively, to order the beautiful chaos that is all around me- and that the world forces from me.

Maybe I do have an ESTJ locked up in here on a chain. When the postman comes into the yard I let him run up and bark and bare his fangs. Rarely letting him bite.

I make my ISTJ do my taxes and clean my room and stuff- I reward him with singularly colored and sized lego blocks that he THINKS hes going to use to climb over the bars of his cell... HA- doesnt he know that the ceiling of his cell is made of pure sugar! Hed have to lick his way out and well... ISTJs hate fun so they hate sugar and candy so...

Hes got a life sentance.

I dont know whar happened with that- with the legos and sugar... but whatever. Why not?

So you’ve been melting down any excess candy from your blog review and building holding cells to contain more organized MBTI types so they can do chores and taxes? Industrious!

It's fluid, kiddo. We develop. To claim you see more X, Y or Z in a person is fine but that doesn't make it their type. Case in point - a bunch of us were in a thread years ago and the discussion was about kids not showing up for music practice at school. I'm the ENTJ, but I'm not the one who sounded like the hard ass. My position was if the kids weren't passionate about being there for the music, then they shouldn't even be there to begin with. You don't beat kids into liking something. Guess who did sound like a hard ass in the thread? The ENFP, who was a buddy of mine. I used to tease her that she sounded like a goddamn control freak but what I liked most about her was, her consciousness of it. She used to say she had a "baby STJ" inside her. And she did. She'd bop all over the forum bonking people on the head with her hammer. I miss her. She was really into theory, far more than most ENFPs around here.
To be fair, you're an E8 who are all about protecting the innocent. The same holds true for me.

I would like to see it.

With me it's when I have strong opinion about what is right or when people look very confused.
I would like people to listen to me at job

Oh, you probably have at some point already. If I catch a break between tasks while at work, I might log on to the forum, and it wasn’t until I really started thinking about this “ESTJ” version of me, that I started to recognize it more, but if you see posts of mine around the forum that seem rather dry and “serious”, when the thread isn’t even supposed to be all that serious to begin with, you’re most likely seeing ESTJ Dreamer hahaha. Otherwise, serious posts within a serious thread doesn’t raise any flags, but if you see one in a fluff thread for example, ya...most likely I’m not in normal Dreamer mode ;)

And same with me, if I see a situation that I feel in my gut is just over the line and someone is being a dick to someone else, it’s Te all over the place hahaha (pushed by the triggered Fi of course)

There's an E8 in this forum who once made it perfectly clear that if they were paying, their kids would take the classes the E8 wanted them to in college. I'm the opposite - if I were paying, my kids would take whatever they pleased. They need to make their own decisions and hold themselves accountable. All 8s are not the same. There are 8s like you, ceecee, and myself who would poke your frigging eye out if you try and harm an innocent, then there are the 8s who actually get off on making them cry. A few of the latter have graced the forum.

Interesting. When I first read this I thought I'd be closer to your stance which most people would think was the typical ENFP stance. But I'd actually count as another ENFP who would push them to stay.

I stopped music earlier than I would've liked in hindsight, and my parents made a fuss but not enough to stop me quitting and doing more sport instead. So as a parent I'd probably push them to keep going for the sake of the future. It's so much easier to learn these skills when you are young than sit here as an adult saying you wish you had. I think I'd still be careful not to push them too much and make them hate it though.

We're probably all mistyped, in some way or another, due to subconscious bias, subjective understandings of typology, differing personality models and rampant misinformation abound.

We're probably all mistyped, in some way or another, due to subconscious bias, subjective understandings of typology, differing personality models and rampant misinformation abound.

And the fact that MBTI is more or less garbage. It goes something like:

  1. Myers and Briggs create questionnaire to help indicate psychological preferences.
  2. People on internet forums decide it means something greater than it actually does.
  3. People on internet forum think posters that seem similar must answer the questionnaire the same way.
  4. People on internet forum decide they can answer the questionnaire for other posters better than the poster themself could. (because you totally know a stranger after a small amount of text based interaction)
You might ask why I stay on a forum that is built around garbage. The main answer is I like some of the people and conversation on here.

I also find it fascinating that there are people who can reduce humanity to 16 personality types and then look for it to solve interpersonal problems, like saying do I do this for this type. The greatest thing I've learnt from this forum is diversity of thought, values and approach. You can't assume others think the same way as you or value the same things as you, nor can you assume that because people have some things in common they will have all things in common. The best way to understand someone is still good old fashioned communication and socialisation (or stalking them on social media if you struggle with that).
