Every time I take a personality test I either get Entp with an extremely strong Ti (usually trumping intuition) or I get Intp and I seem to be more of an extrovert at least in my own perception of myself. Im pretty confused over this because I can relate pretty much equally with Entp and Intp as far as how my mind works and how i am just in general. You guys have any idea how I can really tell or what i actually am?

Are you more likely to go off intuition about things, or is it more important that they make logical sense?

Could you be ambivert?

I'm INTP but depending on the situation I'm very vocal and outgoing. Most of the time I'm caught up in my thoughts, analyzing this or that, with secondary references to external stimulae. If someone asks me something I'm not expecting or catches me off-guard with a comment, I can find it difficult to immediately vocalise my thoughts. These things need consideration from me ;) From what I can tell, ENTPs are much better in this regard, and don't seem to get as wound up in their internal monologue as their introvert brothers.

That is the thing. I go off of intuition but never conclude until I have more evidence of the thing im intuiting about and it pretty much has to be logical or I wont trust it.

im like this, a lot. Im constantly either intuiting, thinking things through logically, or imagining situations with people. It never stops. ever. I can get really caught up in my thoughts if i dont want to socialise or dont like the people im around but if I do like the people Im much less likely to get caught up and more likely to interact. I like to socially experiment with people if that gives u any clues I also like social systems and figuring out things. Some days i cant immediately vocalise my thoughts but i would say most days I can. Im pretty quick in my responses and i can talk to someone and start going through the logical process while im talking to them so i can work things out verbally with ease. (I usually do this with little or no forethought). I have a tendency to want to be alone but at the same time I cant be alone forever, I have to talk to people a little bit. Like I said before, I relate really well with both Entp and Intp. I know when I was like 3-11 or so I was for sure an entp and then once I hit the age of 12 I was for sure an intp, and that lasted till about age 14 and I started to become more extroverted.

There's nothing to say you can't be both. As far as I'm concerned MBTI isn't about boxing you up and slapping a label on, it's to help aid self-awareness and to negotiate differences between people. So long as you can draw what information you need from both profiles, what's the harm?

About the thought vocalisation thing: Occasionally if I'm having a crappy "Go away world, this day is all about me" kind of day, having a conversation with someone that flows well without me having to pause to think of the correct word etc will make me do a little dance of success in my head . Maybe that's just me!

MBTI is about personal preferences. Find out what you want and you find out what type you are.

Based on what you've said, I'm going to guess INTP with a particularly strong Fe.

Just going on what you have typed here, you sound a lot like my ENTP friend. In the end, just read more and more profiles until you figure it out. :)
