This should shine some light on the case and help you choose which he is... describes the differences between an ISTP, INTP, and INTJ, who can sometimes appear similar. (Although I thought he did sound kinda NFish :huh:)

Those tests can give pretty bad results sometimes. The best way is to read up about the type you got and other types and figure it out that way, or maybe take the test again afterwards. INTP/INTJ doesn't really sound like what he is. KTT is helpful here because it's less subjective and based on observable actions.

ENFJ!!

He sounds a lot like my ENFJ best friend...used to really like heavy metal and is into music in general, definite ideas on politics, gets heavily into his NF "causes", and has a lot of casual friends. Experiments with facial hair and looks messy most of the time. Has a very happy-go-lucky & friendly demeanor. Etc...
