Seemed to be about time to try this again. For my part, I'm even more confused than I was last time. What say you?

Why don't we approach this a different way. What type do you want to be? Seriously, of the 16 types which one would you like to be?

Ne user, definitely. Is this primary/secondary/tertiary? I have no idea.

Do you know if you're more J or P? Can you tell us any "i know this for sure" qualities?

pippi- I'd probably most like to be an INTP. I don't think that makes me one though. :D

Usehername- I know I'm an introvert. That is really the only one I've got nailed down. I lean towards N and P. I guess most people would say I am an F but I'm not sure. I'm easily the T-est in my family of origin, but I'm way less T than my husband. It bothers me when people can't get outside themselves and see things as objectively as possible, but at the same time, I'm not without compassion.

I'd say you definitely seem like an Introvert. And you also seem distinctly Ti/Fe rather than Fi/Te. Can't tell the other axis or function order, though.

Thus, I'd guess either INTP with high Fe, or IxFJ.

Please note that my typing skills are terrible, though. I tend to think most of the INTPs I see are actually ISTPs or INFPs. I also mistake a lot of INTJs for ISFPs, INFJs, or even ENFPs.

You seem to fall in the middle of the spectrum in at least 3/4 categories. There may be no resolution, sorry. iXXX

Lurker, this is what I think! MBTI is broken for me, maybe in general. I guess I like to periodically see how I'm seen, and the language of MBTI seems as good a language as any to use.

I don't know much about Enneagram. Let me go poke around and see.

I truly believe it is possible for people to fall smack dab in the middle in any of the four continuums...you do in at least three. Perhaps as a result, you seem like an exceptionally balanced person.

(I realize that "smack dab in the middle" involves give or take a few on either side, depending on mood, test, etc)

Have any idea what Enneagram type you might be?

You might find more certainty here.

I identify eerily well with type five...more so than with the INTP description, although I identify with most of that as well.

From a brief foray into Enneagram descriptions I think I might be a 4w5.

I am of the opinion that most people want to be a type similar to what they actually are, so whatever type you are is probably only one letter off that one.

That's the most common enneagram type of an INFJ (so don't let Peguy scare you), but I've seen INTJs and INFPs type that way as well. Theoretically, though, any type can have any enneagram.

INFJ is probably the most often guessed type for me, but I guess I don't feel quite as ethereal as the INFJs I know. They seem to be better able to embrace the mystical, where I am less and less so as time goes by.

Interesting. I never really got into Socionics, either. I think it seemed a bit more new-agey (like Enneagram) so I kind of ignored it. MBTI had the illusion of seeming less bunky but now I'm not so sure.
