A lot of things about you made me think of this amiable fellow:

Definitely one of my favorite characters.

    As to tracking threads:
Click on your name on the top right. Below your name, there is a tab labelled "statistics" where you can find your own posts and see if there are new messages in the threads you've posted in.
You can also click on the link above your name labelled "User CP". It allows you to suscribe to threads (though I haven't done that yet).
    But most importantly: Welcome!

An alternative method to tracking posts:
You find a thread you want to follow, go to "thread tools" at the top of the page and "subscribe" - these will then show in your "User Control Panel". Then when you come online go to your UCP first, check those, and then click on "new posts" to see if there's anything else interesting happening. When done to "Quick Links" and "mark forums read" which clears the "New Posts" for that time period.

The subscribe process allows for tracking threads you haven't posted in.

I use this method on all forums that have these features available.
