I often find that my sense of aesthetics has a lot in common with concept art. I like a mixture of attention to detail and vision for worldbuilding.

I tend to like higher amounts of color saturation, too.

man I love Morrowind and elder scrolls in particular!!

Uh, to contribute to this thread, I unfortunately being ISTJ don't have anything pretty saved, but I do have some really cute panda dogs from Sims 3:

Now I miss Morrowind in particular.

    Yes of course.

    Not all the time.

Or do you find your tastes change?
Yes. I think people change tastes as they get older, move to a new place, different surroundings and so on. For me, I compartmentalize. There is a way I want common spaces of my home to look and feel. Private spaces are a different story. Those are for me and people I want to share it with - no one else.

I was confused when I saw that posts had been moved to the GY. It's a thread about aesthetics FFS, I would hope everyone would see that differently but Mole was just doing Mole things up in here.

I think for the most part, I like transitional types of decorating, maybe leaning towards Scandinavian/minimalist/functional. I like textures. I like layers. I like clean lines and comfortable to the eye. I take all the things I like make them work as much as possible.

Minus the stuff on the mantle.

Bedrooms, outdoor and private spaces, more like this.

Thank God for Mole, otherwise kitsch would reign supreme.

Kitsch and vulgarity are markers, the mark the inauthentic, they mark the phoney, they mark the confidence trick.

Just doing his thing Mole bring in sunlight and fresh air.

I have diverse taste in aesthetics, but at the same time I have a strong sense of what I like vs. what I don't and my tastes have not changed much over the last several years. I don't have a preference for color scheme, liking everything from black-and-white to dark, bright colors to neon pastels, and instead care more about shapes and layouts. I generally prefer simplicity, structure, symmetry and repetition over complexity and chaos. I've also noticed that visuals I find beautiful tend to be both austere and surreal, while I often dislike the "busy", lushly detailed, or extravagant.

I've noticed there are certain themes behind some of my aesthetics. When it comes to photographs and other artwork, I've noticed that I'm drawn to like stuff that conveys (to me) unity and convergence. When it comes to the aesthetics of nature, I tend to like things that are emerging or developing (for example: flower buds, a chrysalis or cocoon, a sunrise, etc.), or things that have faded or in the process of it (a sunset, or wabi-sabi things like leaf skeletons, bare branches, etc.), rather than things at their full potential (like a butterfly, bright sunlight, flowers in full bloom, etc.)
