Just thought I'd let you all know...

Funny thing is, most people suspected and/or are not surprised

*And next the 3rd function changes and Unique turns ISFP. :p*

Seriously though, from most of your posts, I'd also say iSTP fits you better than ESTP.

I'm curious as to the differences between ISTPs and ESTPs. How do the motivations differ between the two types? I have an ISTP brother and an ESTP sister and they both

a) Hate each other with a violence. I have had to summon other siblings to help drag them apart every time they play chess, poker, a videogame, ANYTHING competitive. It always comes to blows between them.

b) They both have exactly the same effect on my ENFJ mother; she thinks they are cold, manipulative liars and has actually tried to exorcise them of demons a number of times. She keeps burning sage in their bedrooms and putting weird sachets of herbs under their beds to ward off the evil spirits posessing them.

c) Both are incredibly talented at many different things but do terribly academically. They cannot focus on assignments and cannot see the point of homework.

I want to know how these two seemingly similar types differ and why my siblings hate each other so much despite being so alike. Also how to explain their behaviour to my mother in a way that doesn't involve demons.

Cool! My brother is ISTP, and he's pretty much fantastic, so I always like to come across ISTP's. :)

I have an ESTP friend and we don't ever really fight but he probably finds me a bit mysterious and if we didn't know each other well he might not trust me

See we both play competition games (video games etc) for fun but I can imagine brothers and sisters fighting over such things that friends wouldn't

good job, Unique. you did the right thing.

lol reminds me or a slogan that you probably wouldn't to be associated with ;)

so why did you make the switch?

Many reasons, extraverts go to the world where as introverts let the world come to them (many cases of this in me)

My girlfriends have been extraverts trying to get me to open up

Despite me being unaware I do use my alone time to recharge and feel spent after being around people for a long time

My ENFP friend suspected that I might of been

My INFP friend said I appear extraverted among friends but not so much when meeting new people

There's probably more... Oh yeah and I don't identify as well with the quotes around here about ESTPs completely (even the positive ones)

I can't remember the strength exactly but S is always my second strongest function behind F. I've never tested N. I asked because you've said before that you don't perceive much of an N/S divide so I wondered if you ever tested N or were closer to a balanced N/S.

I have tested N once but I had heard that test skewed towards N. P and T are my strongest functions

I'm defiantly an S and even more so an SP
