My ESFP friend wants me to analyze him based on type and I don't know much other than the basics. I have a cousin who's an ESFP, but I haven't seen her in a while, and that doesn't give me a lot to base traits off of. I was wondering if the ESFPs on this site could generate a list so I could have him check it out.

....when you may look cool but you lack substance.

(at least this is for the immature ESFPs)

But I've met matured ESFPs and I pretty get along with them. But a lot of ESFPs I know are so into their looks. In other words, narcissistic.

I think ENFPs have some depth into them but most ENFPs I know (I'm not generalizing) are so into pleasing everybody and being appreciated and valued every now and then which can be annoying (at least for me).

Honestly, I like ENFPs more than ESFPs. This is based on real life.

ESFP characteristics I've noticed:
good storytellers
usually in a jovial mood
dedicated to having fun

ENFP/ESFP differences in my subjective experience:
I'd rather have a conversation with an ENFP, but I'd rather be stuck at a crappy job with an ESFP. The ENFP would share and reaffirm my negative reaction to structural/bureacratic problems I see, which is nice at first but it can become a depressing downward spiral. The ESFP might acknowledge them but doesn't see the point in dwelling on it and would rather focus on the task at hand and have as much fun as possible while doing it.

...when you...

... have a million friends who all love you.

... you're so busy having fun that nobody knows how deep you really are.

I know an ESFP who is one of my dearest most valued friends. I love you guys.

funny who people say " i'd rather talk to an ENFP than an ESFP " and the like
its probably because ESFPs are too busy living life than theorizing or talking aboot it
or dreaming about it
or analyzing it

they want to walk on the sun - not calculate the distance of it from our secluded bedroom

When you skip from one thought to another on like a factory leap-band.

When you have a major-ego, only being able to assign postive traits to yourself.

When your so in-sync with your enviroment, peoples voices tone out and your answers to their inquiries on every question begins with "huh?".

When you randomly begin to dance because you can "feel" the vibe.

When your ego compels you to use your subordinate Te to solve the situation tactfully, only to have a predominant Thinking type hand your ass to you with their quicker deductions.

When you make snap judgements about things you barely know anything about.

When you can look cool without having to put in any effort.

ESFPs.. what are they like?

I know a good number of ESFPs, but I'm only close to a few of them.. anyways, here it is:

ESFPs are:

POSITIVES/NEUTRAL:
- fun to be with, very cheerful and enthusiastic about life in general
- very friendly
- likes to get things going
- sensitive to other people's feelings
- life of the party
- people are usually drawn to them because they are exciting (choice of words and gestures are very enthusiastic)
- always running around (hehe.. going out, doing errands)
- always have to be doing something
- generous with their time and money
- tend to be accepting about people and not judgmental
- tries hard not to say bad things about other people
- practical/pragmatic
- has no problem saying sorry if they think they hurt another person

NEGATIVES:
- tend to either not know or not care about the consequences of their actions
- can be very laid-back
- can be bad in handling finances
- always have to be with someone (doesn't matter what they do so as long as they're with someone)
- tend to not have long-term goals
- can be very literal and not take things on a deeper level
- don't like conflict so they tend to be insincere and try to be nice (they then blow off their steam by talking behind people's back)
- can be needy and manipulative
- "out of sight, out of mind"
- tendency to lie/mask what they think is right for fear of disapproval
- tendency to be irresponsible

Whew!.. Don't know about you guys, but this list is very accurate for the ESFPs that I know and am close to.. still love my esfp friends though..:D
