hypothetically if this situation we're to arise... :newwink: haha

My teacher going through his attendance records notices that I have been absent for a particular day. They ask me to confirm if I was present. Assuming I wish to lie, how should I go about it?

a) assertive: Just a straight succinct "yes I was there."
b) modest: Yes with a possible excuse like I missed the first half because of an interview followed by an offer of someone to vouch for me.
c) abstract: Allow him to rationalize an excuse. "yes, I've been to every class, perhaps I was just absent for attendance.

^That.

And you're going to get your ass in more trouble if you get caught lying. If you're in college, that falls under academic dishonesty.

hmmm so no one is interested in identifying how they themselves are prone to being lied to? For me I feel like I'm more prone to assertive people just cause there's less to work on.

basic guide to lying:

speak normally.
be confident. don't falter. don't hesitate. don't go back on what you say.
look slightly confused when they question you.
get good at forging documents on photoshop for when your lies don't work.
avoid lying whenever possible.

Don't lie to an ISTJ. You can lose ANY credibility you have in an instant, if you get caught.

If you must, it better be life or death. The last thing you want is lose trust over stupid, trivial matters.

I don't know why, but I just really imagine this all ending badly...

it'll be a ridiculous effort to get any semblance of trust back...
I wouldn't risk it if you ever hope to use this person as a reference/resource in the future.
