This INTP that I barely know just sent me an e-mail spilling his guts.
That's a really bad sign, isn't it?

Yes. PM me his address and I'll personally see that he is beaten by a squad of SP goons.

The problem with SPs is that they may not follow through -- go with SJs, they are far more reliable.

Well for those of you who wanted to know how it turned out: unfortunately I was right. Not only that, it's worse than I thought. After reading a few more e-mails he sent me I could see that he is definitely a little mentally unsound.
He's also extremely lonely (maybe that's what made a few of his brain wires go loose?). And he thinks he's in love with me.

I haven't responded to his e-mails yet. I'm trying to figure out what to say. I'm sort of in shock...before he seemed so normal and ok...now I can tell that he's definitely neither.

I would say there are 3 (sic) options on the table. I'll list them in order of descending probability.

1. He likes you but is too afraid to be himself. He's trying to force something out now because he wants to create a connection with you.
2. He actually feels comfortable with you.
3. He's stoned.
4. He's actually asking for help.

I win!
