I've been living in a vacumn quite happily for the past 41yrs. Other people are only relevant if you make them so. Not everyone is a prisoner to other peoples expectations. The one advantage to being an INTJ is that you never expect to be accepted so you dont bother working for it and are free to do as you will.
I will work for acceptance if it will help me accomplish something I want (e.g. by gaining useful allies), but not for its own sake. That much is true. And as [MENTION=5143]Salomé[/MENTION] writes, this is generally true of INTPs as well. IME, INTPs end up being more socially acceptable, if unintentionally so, just due to a more laid-back nature.
