Victoria?! I was born there! Aside from the folks driving really slow, Victoria is a very pleasant city that closely resembles England (I haven't gone to England, but you can just tell). If you have time, I would check out some of the beaches or forests there-I think you would like China Beach a lot, "It's most tranquil" as Bill/Ted would say. If your a fan of beer and/or beer pairings with your food, then check out Spinnaker's Brewpub; their fish and chips are bloody good.

Sorry about that. But you can't deny that it is true!
Nice. I love that weather. How are the wild berries? I love wild berries.
I get clouds around my mountain down here in San Diego almost every day. It drizzled a bit this morning, so the clouds were gone by the time the sun came up, but still a nice cool/wet environment.
I can't see minding the speed of drivers, unless I rent a Charger in Seattle before I catch the ferry to Vancouver Island.
I'm sure it's great. I never ended up there last time I was up that way, but the rest of the area (except Vancouver) was nice. I love the forests and beaches, but it's hard to say if I'll have time. I do not drink beer, even though good/expensive Canuckistani beer smells almost drinkable.
I may have to go for some fish and chips, though. Prawn season should be going on right now and still going by the time I get there...

Thanks.
Pending my license arriving, it looks like I'll be heading to Seattle, then on to Victoria this Sunday. I'm wondering if anyone would like to go to a coffee shop and hang out for some portion of the 3 hours I'll be in Seattle, or meet somewhere in Victoria. I wish it was Vancouver - I'd see if Targo would take me kite flying some evening, but, alas, I will be across the water.
Anyone interested in saying "hi"?I 100%, N 88%, T 88%, J 75%

You mean it's probably going to be rainier and foggier and cooler where I live? My trip is being ruined before I even leave for it...
Thanks, but I will be surprised if I do. I'm going to be joining some crazy ex-military guy they're sending to Iraq over there, and knowing those guys, it's extremely likely he'll be into going to bars and drinking beer and stuff like that. I don't care for going and I do not drink beer. It doesn't look like I'll have a car, which means no other side excursions are possible.
Like I said, shaping up to be a bad trip. Most of it will be getting access to stuff, people showing me where things are that I need to do, telling them how much they suck without being to obvious about it, trying to suppress my laugh, trying to suppress my drive to kill, etc. All this without any free time to do much else. I'll be online a lot, I expect.I 100%, N 88%, T 88%, J 75%

Not in Vancouver. Maybe in Victoria, but the air is pretty nice down here, too.
The water from the tap is probably better, but I'm sure it varies by location (worse in cities, better elsewhere), like in the US. Your chocolate is definitely better.
Just because it tends to be better the further north you go, doesn't mean that Canada is better for any other reason. Alaska is better than Canada, in my opinion.
The government is worse in Canada, that's absolutely certain...I 100%, N 88%, T 88%, J 75%
