Any type that's not a dumb ass.

I disagree, you can make leaps of intuition without justifying them with logic.
Alot of people comes up with crackpot theories without necessarily trying to understand why they happen.

Although I already deleted my post...the above quoted has nothing to do with what you asked. You don't have to be able to justify things logically to know that there is -somewhere- a logical explanation for it.

I don't believe anything can be explained by logic. Does that make me a dumbass?

My initial reaction is yes. However, I'm going to venture a guess that we're talking about two different "logics" and like every other thread on TypeC it's going to fall into the abyss of semantic debate.

The only way I could perceive nothing being explained by logic would be if every single event and entity was completely unaffected by every other event or entity.

I can't speak for the INTJ, but for the numerous INTPs I have known - myself included - the given statement is practically their life doctrine.

Mhmm.

This was a pretty tough choice though. I'm inclined to think that NTs in general are prone to living by such a motto.

It's a knee-jerk reaction for Ti too try and create a subjective logic for a situation. So we may start out with this motto, but the 'crack pot' ideas, which have none, will throw us for a loop.

I voted for INTP because being Ti dominants, seeking the logic in things is a strong drive for us.

And INTJs are good at coming up with those.

Though indubitably they must all be checked for freedom from contradiction, both internal and external.

Yes, the problem is more likely misunderstanding the meaning of the word "logical" or "explanation."

I am not sure if logic would exist in a world where nothing is connected. Such a world is the opposite of the one we live in.

when logical explanation (roughly)= something which makes something understandable through a entirely causal and noncontradictory method

It isn't logical for us to operate by any other method ;)

INTP. Because we want to achieve omnipotence. And that would be impossible to achieve if there are things that can not be explained logically. :D

Also, note: IT DOESN'T MEAN WE CAN EXPLAIN EVERYTHING LOGICALLY.

We just assume they are and try to seek out what that logic entails. That drives us.

Also, when we attempt to come up with a logical explanation based on Ti which might not be entirely sufficient or right. We don't get burned if you point out the flaws in our logic. On the contrary, we will love you long time for it and work on a new logical explanation that does not have flaws.

That statement is how I live my life. I don't know about INTJs though.

Both, but one uses after-the-fact analysis to make a decision about the future and the other uses concrete logic to determine and map the future.

The former believes in studying the past to forge the future. The future can't always be categorized or logically proven to result due to certain circumstances, but forged; it is created due to the conscious choices people make. Lives more by the idea that destiny is not predetermined.

And the other believes in categorizing the future with interpretations and logical conclusions that can be applied to hold up into the future. Destiny is more believed to be predetermined and all one has to do is figure out all the logical implications of everything. Believes more that with the right system, everything can be properly understood and predicted as a set of occurrences and results, or at least hopes so.

Ah, but a [correct] outcome derived from an intuitive leap HAS a logical explanation, so it can still be explained logically.

INTP, without a doubt.

That is like the fucking INTP life motto.

INTJs are much more open to the inexplicability of phenomena and to chaos...

INTPs are obsessed with rationalism and there being a rational order to all things.

Obviously INTP over INTJ.
