In my case, INTPs specifically. Any thoughts?

I don't know about INTP's in that field, but I could never see myself in fields of Law.

Personally the way I see it; law is just one big shoebox to me. Sure you can bend the law, study, refine, or even add laws; it's still a shoebox. I guess this is why I have a natural instinct for science, specifically space science, not that it's better or worse. It's just shit; the law isn't for me.

I could see an ENTJ and INTJ doing well in that field though.

Real Property and Constitutional Law is good fodder for INTPs.

Civil Procedure will come hard to INTPs at first...very hard as it comes off very J and very anti-intuitive. However if they stick to it they should be able to come up with creative ways to manipulate the system regardless of substantive law.

Criminal Law is a split. It will entice the INTP but where theory and reality split their will be great frustration (unless they have the heart/stomach to be a prosecutor) and don't mind locking up semi-innocents to long stints in the Hoosegow

Field of law, well. It's definatly nothing for me. I require change of scenery in my job. Any job I can come up with in the law department seems stale, boring and quite annoying to me. Not only that, but being in a position of law in a system that is, no matter which way you turn it, flawed. While having to practice it as rule in stone, is probably going to stroke my fur in the wrong way here and there.

Basicly, the IP part in me stands in the way.

I can totally see why NT's are good in that area.

As both of my parents are graduated lawyers, I could see myself in Law too. Though they're mostly into Civil Law and I find it the most boring one. I would prefer Criminal or Constitutional Law, but still there's too much formalities and paper works (perfect for ESTJ) and I see other fields that interest me more, so I don't think I'll ever become a lawyer. Though I still consider possibility to study it as a second speciality, because it's a very useful thing to know.

Public Law - no.
I think NTs are best stuited for the market-banking part of law, because it's somewhat more eclectic than the rest.

I'm drawn to the application of science in a legal setting — forensic anthropology, entomology, etc., but not law for the sake of law.

Anything property related - it's nothing but a giant intellectual framework

I would think that INTPs would prefer a position of changing the law rather than having to work with it.

One of my close INTP friends has a private general practice. He enjoys to changing dynamics and learning new things about areas of law he's unfamiliar with. But his absolutely favorite is criminal defense. He feels like it's kind of the *front line, instant gratification* kind of law that really allows him to think outside the box.
