I am madly in love with INTPs and ENTPs...they drive me crazy but I am totally drawn to their craziness. :wubbie:

They are so different from one another but the conversations and connections made are pure bliss....sigh.

Make sense?

Ouh my god, Bob you are so different than the other guys. And look at that thing its bent !

In superficial America I can understand why people like people who are different :)

Ideally INTPs and ENTPs should help each other develop, INTPs can get ENTPs to focus more on the quality of their arguments/ideas(Ti) and ENTPs could get INTPs to consider more broader scopes, voice their thoughts more, and actually try out their crazy ideas irl:D.

My best friend is an Entp. Together we have sold the most bullshit lies, destroyed anyone's arguments, and gotten away with some crazy shit that we should definetly been locked up for. Honestly Entps and intps are a dangerous combo

Same here (or I guess the opposite), a few years ago I had a very good intp friend, we got into the most ridiculous shit and got away with it too. I love it.

As far as what I got out of it, I had a very good friendship with someone who actually had some similarities with me, and who challenged me intellectually (something which has been hard for me to come by because I am scared to open up intellectually to most people incase they judge me).

Duuuurr, the only INTP I think I knew IRL was really hilarious, but I was like the only one that noticed cuz he was so damn shy.

But I mean, he'd say profound shit that made me pee my pantaloons. Hard to get him to go out though.

Online, generally funny, but in debates, they do NOT like to have arguments with me that tend to be outside-the-box. And they seem to be MUCH more attached to winning rather than the sport of debate itself. Could be wrong, but that was my interpretation on an all INTP forum.

But to answer the OP, which was like 5 years ago, INTPs kinda taught me to be more on top of the actual "facts." I try to be, but not on their level. I think an ENTP make things that INTPs are into seem "cool" cuz we tend to get to the essence of a subject quickly and without much analyzing or research, and can talk about it in layman's terms without using big 20 dollar words.

I have one intp friend from school. He is one of my drinking buddies.

He fits the intp stereotype so well it makes me laugh. Sometimes i simply look at him and laugh at him due to it, much to his confusion. He quickly comes up with theories to try and explain things.

He is surely one of my favourite people to talk to because we always discuss theories and concepts along with day to day occurences. He isn't the mist dependable guy though.

Never met an ENTP I didn't immediately like........
....before later segueing into a profound desire to drown them in a toilet, just to put an end to their incessant petulance.

Tert Fe, man. What a PITA.

I know zero NTPs from what I've gathered which sucks because I think it'd be cool to have an NTP friend.

Hey im kind of a total noob in this MBTI thing.
I am an ENTP and I have a close friend that is an INTP.
well the feeling is that I can easily have a decent conversation/battle with him, and I can say what I want without him being insulted. I guess the major difference is that I'm much more open to people, and new ideas and he is more introverted obviously XD
also he seems to have a more reactive character, while I like to stir up things even without any particular reason.
It all came pretty naturally too. I think it's a really good match as far as friends go.

One of my best friends, whom I've known since childhood, is an ENTP. He is a batshit mad scientist, and I adore him. He's fiercely intelligent and side-splittingly funny, and always up for anything. I wish I was more like him.

On the other hand, he is exhausting to be around after a while.

I think I get along well with ENTPs as FRIENDS. Why? Because most of these folks are open minded, puns and jokes are inserted in almost every sentence coming out of them, they're always up for anything, and they seem to know about everything. They're like frisky puppies, lack of focus, curious, sniff sniff, bark for attention, growl, chase their own tails, chase the tennis ball, poke the cat, watch and bark at the neighbors, etc., all within like 15 seconds.

However, I notice that ENTPs would not be the folks I would have an in-depth discussion about anything with. They know everything, but they don't know everything about one particular something. They often speak before the right words come to them and they rarely meditate on an idea.

I could be wrong or maybe I haven't met enough ENTP. One of my best friends is INTP (I only recently discovered her type though I have always thought she was an IxTx), and we get along at a more comfortable level for me.
I don't think INTPs don't know or think as much as ENTP do. They are just introverts, they observe, listen, gather and process facts more quietly.

I don't think INTPs don't know or think as much as ENTP do. They are just introverts, they observe, listen, gather and process facts more quietly.

It is the ENTP which observes more, since it has a 1st function perception (Ne). Actually the ENTP is totally addicted to observation, its almost "totally eye balls only".
The INTP is more "blind", since it has only 2nd function perception (Ne), but a 1st function judgement (Ti) priority. The INTP decides first and looks later. The INTP is addicted to Ti-decisions, and can actually cage themselves in their own logic sometimes. Its the other way around for the ENTP.

Watch out also, as what you think about introversion/extraversion might not be correct:
The INTP can assault you if you exhibit flawed logic, in that case it will surely not act "stereotypical introverted, as in popular non-Jungian meaning of introverted", but can assault you all the way about your flawed logic, will not let you go, and repeat it like 1000 times. And this is an introverted judgement function (Ti) causing that!

A natural intermediate type with balanced Ne-Ti exists, and is also a fine creature by the way, but there is no reason why a natural INTP/TiNe or ENTP/NeTi should become a balanced Ne-Ti. Its like saying that one type is better than the other, and it should change it's ways. Its like saying to a fish that it should grow legs to climb a mountain, while its meant to swim.

And... its like saying that the functions exist as if they are 8 seperate machines, while they are not. Functions are just chosen locations on the entire spectrum of all types/personalities. (We could design a different system with the functions at other locations and still talk about the same spectrum.)

It might also be that modern society's propaganda has gotten to you, and you think that even-balanced is the ideal. It is not. Even-balanced is not god, but a dead stone without any life force because all opposite intents have been canceled out to void.

The ENTP should not focus on Ti, it should focus on NeTi and become even better at it. Same for the INTP on TiNe.

The ideal is that the types work together, each his own specialism, to achieve greater things together than any type can do seperately. (1+1=3.)

Expect them to come up with whacky ideas. The one I'm planning to meet contemplates going bald and buying a wig in order to optimize her time.

I have been contemplating this exact same thing for a while now. But I think I'll need a bit of hair to keep dat wig stable, but I do wonder how baldies wear wigs and they don't fall off, might need to research this in a min.

One of my best friends is ENTP, and I'm definitely glad I know him. We did get off on the wrong foot (is that a common thing between INTPs and ENTPs? It seems like it would be.) But ever since, we've shared a close friendship. However, I won't deny that he really ticks me off sometimes. XD
But regardless, I think we've each really kind of gotten one or two of the other person's traits. I've become a little bit more prone to questioning authority (bur only if the person in authority is a little too fond of their power; reckless, I know, but it's still interesting to see how they react XD. Surprisingly, I've never been punished for it.). I've become a little bit more of a devil's advocate, especially in debates with myself.
