Anyone else?

Without a doubt one of the most annoying things that happen to me. I'll have a great idea that I feel is thoroughly thought out, but if anyone throws in something that is logical and opposes my idea, I instantly reconsider the whole idea. It's extremely frustrating.

It's happened on this forum even.. I'll come up with an idea based on MBTI, post a thread to verify it, and without fail there's someone (usually of the type I had the idea about) that will oppose the idea instantly crushing my hopes and dreams. I'm probably wasting my time with psychology anyway since there aren't any 100%'s.

O well *theorizes some more*

No idea is perfect, you should dish your ideas oiut to the table and put it into discussion. Then you can find loopholes and flaws inside your own idea and remodify it. You will never know wherther your idea is good or not if you never laid it out in discussion.

For me , I have to talk out what I think to understand the flaw. There is always some idiot who will disagree with you even when your idea is perfect.

I am sure einstein's theory of relativity fails to explain alot of thinhgs that happen in the universe.

It's just frustrating not being able to be completely sure. It's like you really can't be sure of anything because there's always that possibility.

Frustrating sure but keeps things interesting at the same time as there's always something new to learn.

I like to think I have a solid, logical understanding of the world. I like to think I can hold my own on debates and have a good - albeit somewhat fuzzy - understanding of my own views. But occasionally some whacko comes along, enticing me with their unfounded, radical, sometimes morally grey ideas and I can't help but say, "Well, when you put it that way..." This happens a lot especially in areas that I'm not too well-versed in. I can't test their facts. So if they present their arguments in a compelling and logically sound way, I can't help but believe them a little. They can never fully persuade me but for a split second, they can catch me off-guard and doubt my own opinions/moral integrity ("Wait, did I just admit to thinking child porn's okay?!").

Of course this process is entirely internal; outside I may still be arguing my point relentlessly. It's just a bit unsettling to think that someone can mould me like putty if they do it the right way... just because my mind is wondering, "What if?"

Anyone else?

I know the problem. You have to make lists. Like when you want to kill a person by the end of the day, write in the morning on the list: "Kill person XY".

If then by the end of the day you are naked on coca riding a rollercoaster with a huge fluffy teddybear, who wears a rosa hat next to you, pull out the list and remember your premisse. :D

It can kinda suck bigtime, to get derived from ones premisses, but on the other hand. closedmindedness's never gonna be an issue.
