Clubbing - No. Loud, irritating and too many people.
Bars - Bars are good. Fun, less people, better music.
Parties - I like.

Hate bars, hate clubs... too noisy to actually hold a proper conversation and other than that devoid of stimulus.

That and the whole culture thing of "this is kewl" and "this is like soo hot". Mind numbing.

Now a club with a machine gun... that'd be entertaining for say a belt or two

personally I hated it, hated it with avengence.... such cattle markets, there ones one club in particular which my mates would drag me kicking and screaming into, it had a balconey - which all the guys would stand around watching all the girls dance, almost sizing up thier prey....

Loved pubs, where you can chat and be socable....

Although when I moved to the sticks at one point clubbing was the only non TV thing in the district, so basically better than nothing....

Still makes my flesh crawl

I like bars better. INTPs just aren't made to go clubbing, unless you give us ecstasy.

lol that's what i was thinking.. but then i guess it would be more of a rave.

but when i do go to clubs i do have to at least get drunk otherwise i just feel too out of place

I've only been in clubs in South America (my dad's side lives there) and, although I thought I would hate it, I LOVE going out dancing there. It's a totally different culture...the guys don't grind on you, they actually DANCE! Like salsa and stuff. And what's more, they lead, which is great for me, because I'm not a confident dancer. And dancing with someone doesn't necessarily mean they're flirting with you or hitting on you either. Perfect :)

I've never been to a US dance club (because I'm not 21) and I don't really know if I would like it...I'm skeptical, from what I've heard of them.

Oh gosh are you serious, you have to be 21 to go clubbing in the US, jees my clubbing days were over at 21... LOL I was never keen in the first place, but as a teen thats what you do when you are out. Gosh that sulks (I guess booz laws - which sulk too).

I have approximately 50 nights of (subcultural) clubbing under my belt, so I picked the first option. It used to be exciting and magical for me, like Christmas when I was a kid. As of late it has been a labor of lovelessness though: A consummate concert can still thrill me, but those are few and far between, and increasingly my dominant feelings toward most of my fellow club-goers have been pity and contempt. :( How much of this development is due to changes in the particular milieu and how much is due to changes in my perception is an open question.

What are some of your favorite sets that you've seen?

OMG I HATE CLUBS. HATE HATE HATE. I had this insane friend, who was a "friend" because she was a junior and drove me to school and was willing to be seen with me because she thought I was cute enough to hang out with her- she said that to me. anyway, she took me to this club and it was gross. so gross. i was drenched and smashed between people and all of a sudden i hear, "LAINEYYYY come dance with me in the cageyyyy!" did not happen. I stood on the other side of the room against the wall while she was humping the inside of the "cage" with three other girls that were also wearing bras instead of shirts. at one point there was this guy dancing behind me and his hand kept finding it's way to my leg and going up... so i ended up having to slap it away and spent the rest of the night sitting on the couch, watching the clock, and my half naked friend pulsating and thrashing around.

If you don't take lots of drugs it can be pretty dull.

The right drugs and you're laughing. Literally.

Love it. Love the fact that it gives me a perfect environment to let go and dance. It's not the same as dancing in a room by yourself. There's this energy/vibe that I feed off of, from those around me. Love it to people-watch. Love it to hear the music thump from my ears to every fiber of my being.
Love it because you don't have to make trite conversations with others. Love it because I could connect to strangers in an instant, without a word.

Most times I go out (like twice this past weekend, and one a salsa club :D), I love dancing "with" others. Like I sometimes just shuffle around the floor, away from the group I went with, and find a person (girl or guy) truly living in the music, going buck-wild to it, and I'll do my shyte right beside. And before you know it, there's this silent communication, where we dance 'with' each other, without so much as touching. Just feeding off each other's moves, and one-upping it, in terms of complexity, novelty, or sheer retardness of it. And, you get to connect. For a brief moment. To a complete stranger. And, it's magical.

And, going at it for as long as I have, has taught me more than enough on how to handle pests in the form of drunk/incessant dudes. That's not even note-worthy really to be taken as a negative.

Only negative is $, & music. Type of music makes or breaks it.

I didn't vote, because I've been to some clubs which I loved, and others which I despised. All in all, I think most of them are shit. The specialised ones appeal to me.

:( . Now you can go to a club without complete sleaziness... My being gentlemanly in the club is probably the reason why I never go home with a girl in my arms :p .

I agree, generally. Bars and parties are definitely superior to clubs. In most bars and at most parties, you can hold a decent conversation with someone.

The point of clubs is to give you such a loud music that you can't talk. I mean, it's part of their beauty.
