Any INFJs here who constantly experience the chameleon effect in reverse?

Instead of altering your personality to ‘fit in’, do you get a weird, irrational feeling that somehow your personality’s authenticity is compromised if the people around you are acting exactly the same, so you alter your personality to be different?

Would this possibly be unhealthy aux Fe?

Is this Fe wanting balance?

I don't think this is type related because I'm not INFJ and I do the same thing from time to time.or maybe it's different but i do fear as not being seen as authentic at times, but i might or might not alter my personality. I probably don't, I probably just get really quiet and walk off.

It could be related to Fe for an INFJ.
I've heard that ENFPs also have a chameleon effect. But for us, I think we are operating with Ne in order to blend in. We can see how other people might think or what they might expect and pick the one we feel is most likely. It's usually just a gut reaction though I find—but it's a valuable skill.
So i don't think it's necessarily type related. Anyone could do it with practice.

Sounds more like Fi to me. Fear for authenticity breach by society is a thing with FP types in general.
