So we had Christmas at our place and it was pretty good and all, had all the usual holiday fixings and stuff. And so in the past I've typically gotten really tired towards the end of a night, but that hasn't happened in the past... little while. It's nothing shocking but I've noticed it in myself and so it surprises me. I wasn't playing hostess or anything, I just sat around and took in a lot of the conversation and sort of struck up conversation as well, and I did ask anyone if they needed anyone/anything...

This isn't some groundbreaking post or anything but yesterday, and reflecting on it today I'm like, a totally different person. My mom can act really outgoing but she is very scheduled and routine and on top of things and towards the end of the dinner (understandably so), she was tired. And so after everyone had gone we sat in the living room for awhile and then I went to my room and eventually I fell asleep. I wasn't actively thinking, "I need to go to my room and be alone, I'm so exhausted", it was just an end of the night thing for me.

IDK, I'm oddly proud of myself.

I've wondered how I can socialise in a more ENFJ manner. I've done so in the past when kinda manic... but mostly, the ability just seems to not be there.

I have noticed this myself.

The more comfortable an ENFJ is wih themself, the more the ENFJ can easily interact with others and even get energized by it.

Dealing with extreme situations (a toxic person, for example) will still be draining, but just everyday casual interactions will become not just easy but welcomed.

When you say "manic," do you mean it figuratively or more clinically? Sorry if that's too personal, I'm just really interested in that kind of thing.

Due to my diet, I usually have more energy and less drained if I avoid the junk food. (not that you are copying my bad habits lol)

So what's your diet consisting of?

Both, but yeah clinically. When I'm in what I would say are manic phases I have tended to type myself as ENFJ, and I would say that that accurately reflects how my mind would have been working at the time. I tended back then to be able to talk a fair bit without having to think about it, but afterwards it would seem like a lot of what I was saying was kinda crazy or no longer relevant to what my mind was doing. So I think I do have quite a bit of ENFJ in me, and it would be very good to be able to channel that for social purposes.

Thanks for your openness. I think my ex has untreated bipolar disorder. He was very "up" the first few months we dated. Man... when he got to talking about things, he just would not stop. He would jump from one topic to the next, almost like his mind would get distracted and he'd just roll with it until he got distracted again, and he'd be so excited about it. I think if it wasn't for his ups and downs (his ups started manifesting as angry outbursts), we'd still be together. I wish people would be less scared to get help or admit something is a little off. My mom also has bipolar disorder but is on a balanced medication regimen.
