[ENFP] Does this ENFP like me, or am I just imagining things?

To make a long story short, I have a chronic health condition that is usually in remission but recently started bothering me again. I went to the hospital, and it turns out the specialist assigned to be my doctor is a super intelligent, attractive ENFP (read, just my type!). I noticed it right away but obviously didn't flirt or anything since I was really sick at the time and he's my doctor, for god's sake. We've been in regular contact via phone and email over the past month regarding health stuff, but it seems like every time we talk or I see him the dynamic is getting more personal. We have gone into personal territory a few times now, with him talking about being stressed with working so many hours and other snippets about his life, and me talking about other stuff going on in my life. He does that ENFP thing where he "mirrors" me when we interact, like imitating some of my gestures and using words I've used, etc. It also feels like there's a lot of chemistry, as the conversation just keeps flowing really easily and has often gone on longer is necessary to discuss my health.

When I saw him a few weeks ago the first thing he said, "wow, you look great!" and he seemed a little wide-eyed and bashful, but I'm not sure if he was just saying that because I'd probably looked sick and disheveled to him the last time he'd seen me in the ER. I've been back for follow up visits in another department (which he doesn't need to be at), and each time he comes by to check in and say hi. Last weekend I had to call him because I was having some symptoms, and he called twice more that weekend just to make sure I was okay (based on my experience with other doctors, this is pretty excessive). We live in a huge city and he has a massive case load, so I know that taking the time to do this was kind of a big deal.

Here's the thing: I'm well aware he could just be a great, attentive doctor who cares for all his patients this way. I've also known many ENFP's who are charming and charasmatic by nature, and place a high value on people liking them, and who "mirror" to get this to happen. The situation is also really awkward - ethically he can't really hit on me because he could lose his license. Usually I'm pretty confident out in the dating world and good at knowing when a guy is attracted to me, but because of the circumstances under which we met, I'm totally neurotic and wonder if I'm making the whole thing up in my head.

Now that I'm feeling better and don't anticipate needing to see him for a while, should I just find a different doctor and ask this guy out? I guess I'd need to feel more confident he was actually interested before I took a step like that. I have a lot of respect for this person and don't want to make things "weird."

Any advice/input would be appreciated!

Ask him out for a cup of coffee. Somewhere casual, informal, and relaxed should be a good place to go from where you're at.

EDIT: You may get more and/or better feedback if you post in the advice center. The MBTI type of the person you're interested in isn't so relevant in most cases.

I would definitely ask him out if you're interested. Because... Well he can't right?
