-healthy and actively trying to stay that way
-compatible sense of humor, not too serious (excessive silliness is awesome, as is humor which is dry like a desert)
-energetic, can keep up with me
-honest

-independent, financially and otherwise
-must be a fairy (It's ok if he doesn't know it yet. )

I actually made a list like this (the OP) when I was quite a lot younger, and then learned to be a lot less specific.

As far as the obvious, which is compatible lifestyles, personalities, values, physical attraction:
physical: skinny but fit (or the other way around), pretty yet masculine
lifestyles: healthy, interested in sustainability and living off the grid, likes going outside and socializing, (preferably) likes dance clubs, environmentally friendly
values: politically liberal/anarcho-socialist leaning, pagan/equivalent spirituality
physical attraction: not much else to say about it, except that it's important.

Egad! Even without all the details that sounds horrendous. So sorry your mother was being such a jerk.

I would consider it a very good sign that you stood up to her for what you saw as immoral behavior.

you dont know that. maybe the girlfriend owed money or whatever and the guy just got the good old 'overprotective manly man' reaction.

not saying its what happened but tehre wasnt enough information to judge here.

Really amuses me reading how specific some people are, the lists can be pretty lengthy esp with the women. To be honest i don't fill half their criteria myself.

lol i was going through some of these lists putting my boyfriend up to their standards and he failed miserably in most cases. so there is hope for you yet.

I have deal-breakers, but they're pretty normal, and really, things like "not being physically or emotionally abusive, or being an overly controlling asshole" should be pretty stock standard.
