Very good idea by the way. So now you would have to present it as a realistic idea. Can you afford it? You gave an alternative of funneling from councellors ...... but you would have to convice your idea would be better than where you will be taking the money from. Your next challenge is can you get other people to buy into your idea so they would volunteer to untilize there abilites. You would have to convice them you can get people to involve themselves.

Here is the challenge re-funnelling finances and getting enough people to be willing to do the program.

Excellent! I used to get my ESTJ to edit things way down for me once I wrote them. I never thought of the debate team thing.

Willingness isn't the problem because teachers are required to put in a certain amount of extra-curricular time every school year. There are even two days a year you can have off if you are willing to put in enough hours throughout the school year.

Currently there are a lot of expensive, full time specialists hired to deal with "troubled" kids. They have both academic and behavioural problems. Most of these stem from a lack of confidence, lack of parental involvement (not enough strong adult connections along with the security that brings), uncertain home situations (eg parents divorcing acrimoniously) or immaturity for grade level they are in. This kind of position would only cost what a regular teacher would, and would alleviate some of the need for expensive testing, a full time counsellor (in addition to a sporadic behavioural psychologist visit), educational assistants for all of these children, and administrative time involved in dealing with playground/classroom behaviour incidents. I suspect it would also reduce the need for as many division ELA, Math etc consultants/specialists to sit in on different classrooms where kids need a lot of remedial help and differentiated instruction (it costs a lot to give teachers workshops to train them in this and to have specialists sit in on classes).

Well it sounds like you have this well thought out. If you present it that way, then it could be accepted.

To Fidelia: I've learned over the years to make my ideas more succinct when dealing with the rest of the world (I agree with EJCC). I admire your longform though, in all it's communicative complexity.

To 4375 and EJCC: Thank you both for helping us understand how to present ideas to you.

I have a system I use with the ESxJs in my life: Write it (the idea) out completely, State it succinctly, answer questions quickly. Be ready to make any decisions that will result from your presentation.

No Problem. I love discussing ideas and listen to other perspectives. It helps you understand others a lot better. The people on this sight are great.
