I took an obscenely long bath.

On a related topic, I wish someone would invent waterproof books.

That has always been something I have wanted. Like those plastic baby books, only bigger. Lamination. Someone needs to do it. You can sort of read in a bathtub, but a shower needs stronger means.

Slowly but surely catching up on work, and being less overwhelmed by it.

A relaxing day at home with no obligations.
Yet I know, if I stepped aside
Released the controls, you would open my eyes
That somehow, all of this mess
Is just my attempt to know the worth of my life

I began organizing papers and cleaning some old junk out of my room, which will make my further plans run much more smoothly.

This was actually a few days ago, but I was ringing up this woman at the grocery store the other day. There was also a woman waiting in line behind her. The two of them only had a couple of items each.

Woman who I was ringing up: "Hey, how about I buy your coffee and things for you, and some day you do the same for someone else? Pay it forward."

The second woman and I were both a bit confused for a minute. But the first woman then elaborated that every once and a while, she likes to do something nice for a stranger. She normally does this with her son to help him learn about kindness and giving. (He wasn't with her at the time, but presumably she'd tell him what she did later.)

So I added the second woman's things to her order and that was that.
