Starting to seriously regret starting that type me thread... I've already exposed far more about myself than I'm typically comfortable doing.

Back now dears... I'm feeling a little better now.

Of course, the pain of losing my grandmother will never fully go away - but the least I can do is be strong for my mom.

Made some righteous shrimp and grits tonight for dinner. Had to make a roux to put in with the shrimp, andouille sausage, chicken broth and veggies.

The grits were from the farm of a guy I grew up with who supplies the rice to most of the high end restaurants in town. They were fabulous.

It was a little rich for frequent consumption, but it turned out amazing.

I've been living in the South for ~4 years now, and I still can't bring myself to try grits.

    Why is this a thing.

I did eat crawfish and frog's legs though.

    I'm going to regret this.

You gotta be an adventurous eater .

I would find a good place to try some shrimp and grits.

I much prefer Crawfish to frog legs. Although frog legs are still good. Good crawfish is amazing.

I've loved grits ever since I was little kid. Its one of my childhood foods that has really stuck with me all these years.
