Mod note- posts that carry on insult-fests that were moved to OT (which is locked for a reason) are decidedly un-random.

Extrovert character traits shaped by background, study finds | Society | The Guardian

People with character traits thought of as extrovert tend to come from wealthier backgrounds than their less extrovert peers as well as being more likely to have well-paid jobs, a new study suggests.

The research, published by the Sutton Trust educational charity, found that traits such as being assertive, talkative and enthusiastic are associated with higher earnings in adult life.

People with these traits, the report suggests, are 25% more likely than those who do not share these extrovert characteristics to earn over £40,000. Yet researchers for the charity, which works to advance social mobility, also found that those with these qualities are much less likely to come from poorer backgrounds.

I succeed in a massive book clearance, twice, three times but then I buy three more books? Hmm, damnit, damnit, damnit.

    Did you find this surprising?

Obviously, networking is important for careers. This was something nobody told me in grade school. I only started learning about the importance of this towards the end of college.

As an introverted and rather passive freelancer I am only all too aware of the importance of networking (and going out there and selling yourself proactively and all that other horribble stuff one is supposed to do and I probably should do far more often)

The interesting aspect of the study, to me, is not that extrovert traits help in yor career but that people from higher income families also score higher on those traits from a start.

Fuck! Now they've taken Alan Rickman from us!
I hate to make excuses for my assholery, but I'm on the spectrum, so if I insult you, it most likely wasn't intentional.
