Brit great grandma is a bit of a pain in the ass when I want to drink the left over milk in my bowl after having cereal. My father and I also drive her nuts when we eat bacon and eggs with chopsticks. I don't really feel like I fit in anywhere, but I do seem to have this strange ability to make friends with any race.

I assume with the North Carolina reference she means Native American, or 'feather Indian'. I don't know why we persist in using completely inaccurate terminologies like "Indian" for people whose cultures originated on the American continents. 'That's what we've said since Columbus first made the mistake' is no justification. Columbus was a philistine.

I lived in Colorado for a couple of years and I definitely had to adjust to the abundance of whiteness.

I'm not big into having ethnic or cultural pride and affiliations.

I am an individualist and a humanist, not a nationalist or a racist.

Assholes and angels come in all shades and sizes.

i'm not big into pride or affiliations either but i do like that i'm not totally white. i know someday we'll all be beige, as they say... but some of us are already there.

i would've have guessed india indian because i know nothing of north carolina. and i agree about the terminologies. though, it's nice to be clear on something like that rather than to assume.

i should know that since i'm the wee-tiniest bit cherokee.... i guess the wee-tiniest bit is not enough to encourage one to do more learning. my grandparents on my dad's side were from west virginia, later ohio, that's all i got to say about that.
