From what I know about you, it sounds like it's high time you moved the hell from wherever you've been living.

I would never be able to form friendship with such people. Period.

Almost every brilliant person who lived 150+ years ago seemed to hold views that would be regarded as racist/misogynist/homophobe by the average everything-is-a-social-construction progressive western.

That is true, which is why I understood it.

also, just wanna throw this out there.

unless someone is like a crusader against a certain group of people, i have a problem labeling a person as anything, including a homophobe, a racist, etc. there are all shades and people who may say or think ignorant things for different reasons. i'm not saying that justifies ANY of it. it doesn't. but it's something to consider. by labeling a person and casting their whole self out, aren't we the same as them?

As I don't live "150+ago" but ++150 ahead, no way, I don't wanna have my mind polluted with racist, misogynist, homophobe.

As simple as that. I have some friends of different religions, which is clearly different. If they happen to fight, this is none of my business !

i like this idea, to an extent. i think it's good to live among humanity, but keep yourself protected from it. don't let it in, but don't let it hold you back from experiences either. if a historic homophobe is going to a party that i want to go to, i'm not going to let his stupid ideas put a damper on my time. i would just ignore that subject unless he brought it up. then i would have to say something, but wouldn't try to cause a scene or anything. i don't feel the responsibility to convert him, just speak my mind.

I suppose so. I believe education is the cure for both milder and more severe forms of hate. I just saw where I woman who ran a bakery was sued $150,000 by the state for refusing to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding. She had to sell her bakery and all of its assets to pay the state.

I recently discovered there are over 20 chapters of hate groups in Louisiana alone. I feel the need to somehow reduce that number.
