You know, I'm going to have to dig into more of his music now. I really only knew of 'Everybody's Talking', which I discovered after watching the Midnight Cowboy movie (side topic, but every time I watch a more renowned movie from the 70's, I'm kind of blown away by how much 'deeper' and rawer and darker many of the topics they covered were, without necessarily showing everything. vs now, movies show everything but it's not nearly as poignant).

I think his voice is great. Imo it's a softer version, more contained even when he goes a bit rock, vs Mariah is really melodramatic. I happened to like her voice in it, and think she was wanting to showcase it, but you end up getting more of that vs the layering of emotion in his version.

Oh, yeah, I highly suggest it. The guy is very interesting, one of those great songwriters that's been mostly forgotten in the pop culture set. You'll find that you know a lot of his songs.

I agree, the 70's really did have a lot of depth. I think it's because they were addressing subjects in a completely new way that wasn't just good guy vs bad guy, and the formula for it hadn't really been discovered yet, and the public was hungry for that sort of thing.

I'm not sure that the Chinese food I ate last night was real chicken.
    You said I made
You said you said I made a bad decision
    I said I made a mistake
    Failure without recognition
    But how would I know
Know of what consequence, had I first seen
    I kiss you in vain
How California hates, had I'd not been

Closing the doors and I am running
Past video stores and you are driving
A battery stands between your hands and me
    Sorry

My ENFJ friend and an ISTJ acquaintance told me how they liked my directness, on-point remarks... they can trust that I will tell them where they stand with me. Take take everyone who says Fe can't handle conflict...

for someone who was born & raised in the Midwest and loved them as a kid, thunderstorms kinda scare me. when I was maybe 7 or 8 a house less than a block away from mine got struck by lighting (it was weird - they were all fine, and they lost next to nothing but had to rebuild the house because there was a huge ass hole in the roof) and it didn't freak me out as much back then as it does now. I would fuck rain if I could but as soon as there's lightning and sirens start going off I'm out
