Default Words you over-use in conversation

    Mine include the following:

    "random"
    "tangential"
    "Orwellian"
    "crazy"
"brilliant" (that's definitely a result of living in the UK and Ireland for ten years!)
    "dysfunctional"
    "like"
    "amazing"

I'm wondering if there is a pattern here...

Well, during my day, I generally speak english, german and italian.

    So, in english, I'd say:

    well
    like
    cool

    In german:

    schau mal
    irgendwie
wie bitte? (when I don't understand)

    In italian:

    tipo (which is basically "like")
    fico (which is basically "cool")

Besides the obvious -- "like", "um", "totally", "seriously" -- I tend to exclaim "Excellent!" and "Interesting!" very, very frequently, more so than other people I know.

On TypeC, I overuse qualifiers, e.g. "just", "very" (see above), "more" (see above), "incredibly", "mostly", "really" -- which means that I might do the same in conversation irl, but don't notice it.

I overuse the phrase, "I was like," meaning "I thought" or "I felt" or "I said." It annoys me but I can't seem to stop.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Interesting. It means the same thing in Brazil.

    Words I overuse (English equivalents):
    But (Mas)
    Yes (Sim)
    If (Se)
    Cool (massa)
    Shit (merda)

    A pretty rich vocabulary.
