I also review the day and organise my thoughts for the next day..If by then I'm not asleep, I grab a book and put on some classical music. So I guess I'd be thinking about which book to read and which music to listen to?

I think about the same kinds of things I think about at any other time. Reviewing the day's events is among those things, though I do that during the day as well. I also think about typology, or tv shows, or other random things.

In order to calm my mind, I usually play a little game with myself, consisting of running through the alphabet and naming one thing of a certain theme starting with each letter. Usually I do either things from Star Trek or Harry Potter, but I've also done breeds of dogs and other random themes. Sometimes I do a variation of the game, where I try to name 5 things or 10 things starting with the letter, especially when I do Star Trek, as there is ample material.

Falcarius tries not to think of anything as he would only over analyse his day, and wont be able to get asleep; hence, why he goes to sleep with BBC World Service on the radio.

I usually do an inventory of all the things I need to resolve that I haven't yet. If I know I have some kind of plan, ANY plan for how to take care of unfinished business, I can rest easy. Otherwise, I will not fall asleep.
