They're lame because people can be "open minded" in different ways...for example, an ENFP or INTP can seem closed minded even though they're Ps about certain ideas because they're stuck in Fi/Si or Ti/Si loops...on the other hand, an ESTJ could appear open-minded about certain things because of good tertiary Ne use. Open-mindedness is subjective, and I'm personally opposed to people being so ridiculously open minded that their brain falls out.

I think the Nietzsche Lite of describing all things as subjective or morally relative is the dead horse, there is such thing as being open minded, its objectively possible but the objective reality is often used in positive or prejorative senses to suit the perspectives in question.

I dont think that supposed open or close mindedness is associated with typology, its a character trait not a cognitive function or consequence of a cognitive function.
All for ourselves, and nothing for other people, seems, in every age of the world, to have been the vile maxim of the masters of mankind.

whether or not you credit psychoanalysis itself, the fact remains that we all must, to the greatest extent possible, understand one another's minds as our own; the very survival of humanity has always depended on it. - Open Culture
