I enunciate between Ts and Ds... I always said "hello" in a very proper way as a child instead of "hi" as well... I've been made fun of enough for pronouncing the "h" in vehicle and other such "overly proper" usages of English quite frequently... I was told throughout high school that I should either teach ESL or become a flight attendent because of it

I just reassure myself by telling myself that everyone else is lazy with their english

Where are you from? I think everyone I know pronounces the "h" in vehicle.

people have commented that i sound proper quite often. i don't really think i do but my parents were always correcting my english as a child. i guess it was important to them that we didn't pick up any southern slang. ??

I'm from Indiana, but went to college with a bunch of people from the Chicago area... who pronounced things strangely

yeah... I grew up with one parent who was a teacher and the other has a degree in English... I was doomed to speak proper english

somehow it never rubbed off on spelling though

Well now I am going to be over analyzing the h sound in all words. I can't even pronounce vehicle naturally in my head right now. :p
