    "...and stuff." - when I can't think of anything else to fill in the dead air at the end of a sentence, and feel awkward... insert "...and stuff".

    "excellent!" - I feel like Mr. Burns when I say this phrase. I use this in place of the word "awesome"

    "this seems..." - Ni brains in action.... thinking of the possibilities here.

    "...sort of..."
    "...kind of..."

    "trying..." - I feel like Luke Skywalker whenever I say this, and my inner Yoda says "Do or do not, there is no try." I'm actually attempting to remove that phrase from my vocabulary when it comes to dealing with things in the professional world. The word "trying" sounds a bit whiny and immature to me, but it slips out of my mouth.

    "okay..." - When I'm somewhat paying attention.

    "uh huh" - ditto

    "Well, ...." - The infamous introduction to a sentence with the word "well".

    'Well'

    I used to start almost every sentence with 'well' and I was oblivious until somebody pointed this out. After they mentioned it I've been so self-conscious about how frequently I use the world 'well' and I almost never start sentences with it.
    ...Then I ducked my head and the lights went out, and two guns blazed in the dark;
    And a woman screamed, and the lights went up, and two men lay stiff and stark...

    I use "Basically" way too much when writing papers or giving presentations or teaching patients..

    "So, this is basically what you need to know. Basically, your heart blah blah blah blah. So, basically what you need to do is, blah blah blah.."

    It's my, "I'm trying to maintain professional yet fill silences while I figure out what I'm going to say next" word.
