    Default "Above member" threads...

I'm not sure why, but some of the responses are downright dumb. I'm not sure if they're inside jokes, etc., but a few of them just make me uncomfortable. Perhaps the humor is so out there that my mind cannot comprehend it?

Anyone else open up one of those "above member" threads (ex. Tell a secret about the above member), but after reading a few, decide to just facepalm and move to another thread?

If it makes you feel any better, Jonnyboy, you and I can create our own inside joke, pick one of our favorite "Above Member" threads, and sabotage it by starting a three-page dialogue hinting at the same punchline (probably dirty) over and over again, horribly derailing and driving everyone whose viewing "Live New Posts" mad. Sound like a plan?

For the record, I know what you mean. I just avoid those threads as best I can and take some solace in that fact that I have something of a life outside of TypoC [but shhhh don't tell them that - they'll take a iNtuition card away if you do!]

They're not supposed to make sense to you! They're for flexing your imagination and to have some fun, that's all. And there is absolutely no obligation to read or participate in them. Just ignore them.

Well I may be missing the joke here or may lack the cultural knowledge of american bonfire customs but a thread called "Tell a secrect about the above member" could maybe create 2 or 3 serious and intresting responses because thats maybe how many members know each other well enough for that. The rest basically needs to be fluffed up and in the brainstorming process of creating fluff, there will come 90% bullshit out of it .

Or am I missing something ?

Well, I (obviously) like them. They're fun, and not meant to be taken seriously. It is nice to be able to just play sometimes. Which I realize can be an issue for some, I understand your dislike of them, at least it's easy to ignore it, unlike behavior you disapprove of elsewhere. So good luck on your quest.

Only if it involves an 'above member thread,' or a cheetah.
