I looked through some of them on amazon, none had particularly stellar reviews, although a few seemed passable as an introduction.

There is a free translation of one of Reinin's original text here in somewhat of an ebook format (download): Reinin's Book
Very unconventional reading experience by the looks of it though.

Most places I've looked have stressed the value of the online sources such as Wikisocion as it appears many authors go down the wrong paths with some of their ideas or do a poor job explaining, as there is a large margin for error with socionics, perhaps moreso than with MBTI. I'm sure someone would know more than me on which actual books are the best for purchase, however.

Also, most of the highest quality source texts for this remain only translated from the original Russian in an online format.

This book offers a decent introduction into Socionics and appeals especially to readers to value Fi (Filatova is of type EII).

I've guessing he was asking about one that's already readable

It's cheap on Amazon now. Would make for a great holiday gift for someone who's interested in socionics.

I found a book on Amazon called Socionics: The Modern Approach to Psychological Types. I haven't read it, but it's getting very divisive reviews because it retains ideas from the original Soviet-era Socionics that seem unsavory to a lot of Western typologists weened on MBTI (e.g. visual identification). Make of that what you will.

That's always been one of the biggest challenges, finding decent information. Most books I've read have not been that great on the subject.
