INTj or INTp?

I've only recently spent time looking into socionics. By all other measures, I firmly identify with INTJ.

But the contentions for INTP in this article fit me much better than how they characterize INTJ.

What do you INTJs/INTPs think? Is socionics hokum? What do you other types think?

It almost seems to me that they swapped the two.

Many people say that for introverts in Socionics, switch the J and P to correlate with MBTI. Personally, I think it depends. MBTI and Socionics don't correlate perfectly. MBTI INTP could be INTp, INTj, or even ENTp or something else.

For me, I seem to be somewhat in the middle between INTp and INTj, tho I lean towards INTj...

Socionics overcomplicates the concept of personality assessment. Though I do like the idea of functions, I doubt that there is an objective way to clearly order them, on the basis of type.

Furthermore, between the INTp and INTj descriptions, I am significantly more like the INTp.

The pages on this site that describe relationships, don't put any Ns with Ns or Ss with Ss as the ideal match. That seems like garbage.

Actually, random people on an internet forum can objectively and with a high degree of certainty determine your exact functional order based on reading 3 of your posts.

I know, I was surprised too, but apparently that's the way it works. It's science.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a socionics INTj a MBTI INTP? And vice versa...?

I thought that in socionics, the j and p (lower case) are given based on the dominant function itself, not the introversion or extroversion of it. Since an INTP's dominant function is Ti and this is a judging function, this makes the INTP a socionics INTj.

Yes, that's correct. However, the socionics type descriptions are a bit different than the MBTI type descriptions.

It's a toss up for me, I've tested as either. I read the descriptions and can apply both to different areas of my life. I've since just considered myself INTx, though gun to my head I'd go INTj, because I agree more with the Dominant/Secondary descriptions of INTj than INTp, though the tertiary and inferior function descriptions of INTp fit better than INTj.

Yup, exactly the same for me.
