    Default ILI vs LII?

    Hello,
Firstly, I'd like to apologize if my post is inconsistent with the regular tempo/mood of this site. This is my first time on it, so bear with me.

    Tell me about yourself.
I'm a 17-year-old INTP (I think) from the US. I've been having doubts about my personality lately.

What do you study or do for a living? How did you come to do that? What do you like or dislike about it?
I am about to graduate high school a year early and attend college this fall to study mathematics. I think I've always expected to study math since elementary school. It was always my best subject but I began to seriously like it in 5th grade. We read Stephen Hawking's "George's Secret Key to the Universe" and visited a planetarium, so I thought I wanted to study astronomy. I became an astronomy nerd for the next two years until 7th grade, when I decided to self-study physics. I realized I needed math so I started teaching myself math and fell in love with it, especially the theoretical aspect of it. I'm not really one to think of the practicality of studying a thing because I like to study for the sake of learning (but I always have a goal in mind when I learn).

What are your values, and why?
My values are all success- and education-oriented. My biggest one is to master the thing you love, and everything else in life will come with it. There is no reason to become a doctor when your passion is music; if you love it enough, you will find a way to monetize it and make it a practical living, if that is of your concern. I also value reasoning and knowledge. I think the former is more important than the latter because without reasoning, knowledge would be useless and impossible to retrieve (unless the information is sensory).

What else do you do on a daily basis? What are your interests and hobbies? Why do you do them?
I have a sporadic yet highly organized work ethic. Whatever I decide to do, I do it all day everyday. It's a hyper-focused mindset that I have so what I do in a day depends on what I decided to take up. For the past few months, it's been gaming. It's definitely not the most productive, but I enjoy it and want to become a master at the games that I play. I think the one thing that is consistent in my life is school. I always do my work but closer to the deadline than not (lol). That's not to say I like it, though. I love learning and I've had the fortune of having teachers who admire my curiosity, so my good grades come from them seeing my effort to understand things, not from doing my assignment on time.
I also play a lot of chess, watch YouTube, and go on random Wikipedia pages at 3 AM. I also spend my nights listening to classical music.

Describe your relations with family and friends. What do you like and dislike about them?
I am VERY detached. I'm not a people person at all. It's very difficult to get me to be comfortable with you. However, I'm very sensitive about the way I treat and speak to people. Although I can accidentally be blunt, I have a very good filter for the things that I say.
I do love my family. I'd say I go along with them quite well, but it wasn't always like this. I used to resent them and never talk to them, but over time I matured to create better relationships with them.
I have no friends. When I do find some, they stick with me for a few months but eventually fall off suddenly. I have actually counted the "true" friends that I've had in my life, and it totals to six, plus or minus one. I just don't like being around people (not because I have anything against them, but because I don't have the social energy for them).

What do you look for in friends? In romantic relationships?
I mostly go with the vibe. I don't look for specific traits, but the ones I've had matched my chaotic yet reserved energy. I've never been in a romantic relationship, but I would love to have someone who can emotionally attend to me and fill in the gaps in my heart.

What conflicts have you encountered recently with other people? Why did they happen? Which kinds seem to happen on a regular basis?
I have an ENTP sister who I always get along with. However, nowadays we've been having some arguments. They're usually about proving to each other how "dumb" the other person's idea is, but it's mostly us just criticizing the way the other speaks and thinks. She thinks that I'm "arrogant, overly-assertive, and lack tact." I'm not always like this, though. I think that recently those traits have been magnified these days because I've had quite a few important decisions to make and started hating school (I'm still trying to keep up).

How would your friends describe you?
Ambitious, rational, excited, aloof, phlegmatic, detached, organized, have high standards, tactical, a good leader when I need to be.

What do people generally see as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
Other people like the way I'm controlling my life. They also like that I do things out of pure interest and not because it is the standard or the most practical thing to do.
For me, I like that I'm adaptable. I'm quite flexible in the way that I approach decisions and know that I can make anything out of what I'm given. Otherwise, I don't like thinking about what I'm good at. I'm always thinking about my weaknesses.

What are your weaknesses? What criticism do you often face from others? What do you dislike about yourself?
I already mentioned some, but I can be stubborn, arrogant, and somewhat aloof. I lack regard for the things that I wear and can appear disheveled most of the time.
The thing I hate about myself the most, though, is my intuition. I used to be extremely intuitive, but I feel that over the years I lost this intuition. In middle school, I was really into entrepreneurship so I did whatever I could to develop traits that would make me a good business person. Unfortunately, that meant that I lost touch with my emotions and intuition and now only think about productivity. I'm also quite boisterous now, and I hate it? I really like being quiet but now I can't help but attempt to take control of every situation I'm in. Don't get me wrong, I still consider myself an introvert because I get my energy from being alone. But now that I've become more sociable I've lost my internalized thinking.

In what areas of life can you manage well on your own? In what areas of your life would you like help?
Anything but maintenance. I could definitely live on my own and want to since I'm super independent, but I hate micromanaging things. I wish I could have someone who would do the maintenance for me and I do everything else. I would even make the money in the household by monetizing my interests, I just don't want to do things like chores or paying bills and such.

What things do you find to be a chore? What things do you enjoy more than others?
Good timing. Chores. I hate them. I do not like micromanagement WHATsoever. I prefer to be the "mastermind" behind things and come up with creative solutions to problems, but implementing those ideas is something I want someone else to do. I enjoy being alone and working on something I've been passionate about recently and expect zero disturbance in my flow.

What goals, aspirations, or plans do you have for the future? How did you come to have them?
They are VERY ambitious goals. I never like sharing them, though, because I feel that speaking about my goals would discourage me from doing them? But I have quite a wide range of interests and want to become an independent math researcher (I don't want any of that PhD nonsense, though) YouTuber? I don't know, but I know that I want to do whatever I enjoy.

If you had enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, what would you do with your time?
I joke with my sister that I would buy myself a mansion in the middle of nowhere with nature around it and just...live. Learn the things I want. Although I do enjoy the idea of leading people, I prefer to be alone and think.

What kinds of things do you do to manage and/or beautify your environment (your room, your house, etc.)? What do you think of daily chores?
I'm actually quite organized and always have been. My thinking patterns is a bit of a mess sometimes, but physically, I'm tidy. It's not because I clean often but because I rarely make a mess. When it does get messy, though, I get annoyed and spend an entire day cleaning my workspace. I have a minimalistic style. I already talked about my take on chores.

How do you behave around strangers?
I do the business that I need and leave. I never initiate conversations. If they do, I just follow the social norms I've accrued over the years. However, I do act quite anxious and overly-polite when they begin to talk to me. It's something I do unconsciously and I don't like it.

How do you react to conflict? What do you do if somebody insults or attacks you?
I don't care if someone insults me honestly, but I do take their criticism and attacks into consideration and may even take offense if it's something I'm particularly sensitive about. In times of conflict, I'm usually the mediator, even when I'm the conflicting party. I'm pretty good at getting both sides to understand the situation at hand and calm everyone down.

What is one common misconception that people have? Explain why it is wrong.
That there is a systemized way to success and happiness. So many people I know chase high-esteemed jobs and good credentials, but those only get you so far. I highly doubt anyone would be happy at a 9-5 job that they aren't passionate about, even if it makes them a millionaire. I feel that having an average income and doing what you love would make you happier than working a job for its salary.

What did you do last Friday?
Slept through all but two or three classes, played Minecraft all day, and spent the night thinking a lot about my future and what I'm doing.

Who do you admire, and why?
I always get disappointed by people, but I always admire successful XNTJs (I know we're talking about socionics, but I'm quite inexperienced).

What are your religious or spiritual beliefs and why do you hold them?
I'm a Muslim because I grew up one and I also like the philosophy behind it. I'm not super religious, though, I just follow what I need.

What are your political beliefs, and why? To what extent do you care about politics?
See, this is one of those bursts that I had where I focus entirely on one thing for a prolonged period of time. Last year, I was really into politics, but now I don't care again. I would say I'm a left-leaning centrist, though.

What kind of work environment do you prefer? What do you look for in a job?
Oh my gosh, I literally don't want to work a corporate job. I'm avoiding it at all costs. Anything that stifles my creative energy is something I don't want to do. I want to make something myself and live doing what I want.

What is or was your favorite school subject and why?
Already said this, but math. I've also loved history for the past three years after I finally got some good teachers.

How do you approach responsibility? What do you tend to expect of others?
I'm always responsible for my own success and circumstances, but I don't expect to affect anyone else's life. I don't like imposing responsibilities on others because it's too draining.

If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
I want to give them a lot of freedom but within reasonable limits. I also want to teach them to not be reliant on school to learn and do the things they want. They should know that whatever they want, they don't need anyone else to give it to them. I want to ensure that they have the right balance of curiosity and drive.

What is the purpose of life? What do you find personally meaningful in life?
Man, i don't even know. I'm cruising along life trying to be happy because I know being sad is just a waste of my life. I love being deep in thought and exploring human possibilities.

I'm realizing that this makes me seem very LIE-like, but I have unusually high levels of Te for an INTP (in MBTI, not socionics). I'm less assertive and confident in real life and don't think of life as a big project. I also hope that I was consistent enough with my answers to have pretty confident responses.

I've scored ILI on all the socionics tests that I've taken, but I still relate to both LII and ILI. Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome.

This reads like a textbook description of an INTP 5w6 specimen, although there’s a case to be made for INTJ—more data required.

I’m not well versed in socionics but I’ve heard it’s not uncommon for INTPs to get ILI on socionics tests. I got that result myself a few times. We have a few members with more knowledge and experience in that system, so hopefully they’ll chime in and help you distinguish. I’d post some links but I’m guessing you have already spent many a late night googling and reading every resource you could find.

    1) Can you do this test and paste the enneagram scores please My Enneagram Test

    2) Paste a photos of movie/tv or anime characters that you identify yourself with and find similar to you in demeanor (Note: not characters you aspire to be or admire).

    3) If you play roleplaying games or any multiclass game, what kind of character classes/types do you usually play? Why?

    4) What do you mostly enjoy doing in your free time nowadays?
