Do you think that if there'd been no Trump then there would have been a Bernie government perhaps from real change in government?

I know you weren't asking me, but I think with no Trump, the eventual GOP nominee in 2016 would have probably been Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz or John Kasich, none of whom had Trump's populist right wing appeal. Hillary still would've won the primary against Bernie, and gone on to win the general election against a GOP candidate that would fail to excite the Republican base. Bernie would have likely declined to mount a primary challenge against a sitting Democratic President in 2020, so no, there still would be no Sanders-Turner Administration, sadly.

Agreed. I think I'd throw Rubio in that potential mix, being new blood and seemingly more facile, but he was also young, so maybe not.

Dunno if anyone posted that already. If you can't interrupt the Javascript firewall, it essentially is "racists upset that racism was grifted by grifter-in-chief" and they see Trump as a traitor now. (In actuality, he was always gonna throw them under the bus if they failed to overturn the election.)
Oh always. That's how authoritarians turn into a dictator. And that's what Trump wanted to become so badly.

    This is hilarious.

Trump discussing forming new political outfit called the Patriot Party, report says | The Independent

Except there already was a Patriot Party.

    Patriot Party (1960s–1980s) - Wikipedia

The Patriot Party was an American socialist organization of the late 1960s and early 1970s that organized poor, rural whites in the Appalachian South and Pacific Northwest. The party was formed after a split with the Young Patriots Organization . The YPO's membership was drawn from street gangs of Appalachian whites in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois; it became politicized after working with the Young Lords, an ethnic Puerto Rican gang; and the African-American Black Panther Party.

I bet Rubio would've been the VP choice of any of those nominees

Perhaps, but I am fairly sure that such a big difference on republican side could have change the dynamic on the democratic side in 2016. Especially since it was fairly close and anti establishment talk would be on the left side of the playing field in this case. After all Hillary evidently got the boost with "there are insane stuff going on at the other camp" claims. However in reality we can't know this for sure, there are just too many factors and circumstances.
