The Mediator is a Belly Point.

Lost in self-forgetting, Belly Points are overwhelmed and angry in a world that they perceive forgets them and so in the compulsion to respond to the world in an effort to be recognized and thereby have a sense of identity, they lose their connection to their heart and their capacity to access what they desire and feel.

In reacting to this, Mediators take anger-driven action in the world by focusing on loving others through merging with them and dissociating from their anger as a substitute for knowing themselves.

Mediators are caring, attentive to others and adaptive. They are supportive and have the capacity to understand and empathize with others’ points of view. They are willing to sacrifice in service of a greater goal.

Mediators can be self-deprecating and resentful. They can be dominated by comfort. Prioritizing is difficult. They are conflict averse making it appear they agree when they may not. They can be spacey.

    Spiritual Growth for the Mediator
Experiencing own sense of unlovability thereby fostering right action and freedom from the need to be invisible.

The Observer is a Head Point.

Lost in paranoia, Head Points (Points 5, 6 and 7) have aversion to a world that they perceive demands too much and gives too little and so in the compulsion to feel safe, they lose their connection with their body and their capacity to sense and act.

In reacting to this, Observers withdraw from the world they have an aversion to by seeking isolation and escape into a world where accumulation, particularly of knowledge, protects them from danger.

Observers are scholarly, independent, and self-sufficient. They are able to detach from feelings and to absorbs facts and details then formulate new perspectives. They are good listeners and great confidants. Their attention is on ideas versus people.

Observers can be removed and judgmental around displays of emotion. They are often experienced as distant and hard to engage. They can be patronizing and pedantic.

    Spiritual Growth for the Observer
Experiencing own sense of insufficiency thereby fostering non attachment and freedom from the need to hoard and disengage.

The Loyal Skeptic is a Head Point.

Lost in paranoia, Head Points (Points 5, 6 and 7) have aversion to a world that they perceive demands too much and gives too little and so in the compulsion to feel safe, they lose their connection with their body and their capacity to sense and act.

In reacting to this, Loyal Skeptics withdraw from the world they have an aversion to by seeking to belong and participate (believing strength lies in numbers) as a way to protect themselves from danger.

There are two variations of the Loyal Skeptic - one, the Phobic Six, that acknowledges their fear and the other, the Counter-phobic Six that denies it.

Phobic Six presents self as warm and friendly as a way to disarm others.

Counter-phobic Six presents self as strong as a way to keep others at bay.

Loyal Skeptics are thoughtful, warm and protective. They are sensitive and devoted to those they care about. They have many good ideas, and you can count on them to always be fair. They are responsible.

Loyal Skeptics can be ambivalent, mistrusting, suffering from over-imagination. They can be guarded and tense and pessimistic.

Spiritual Growth for the Loyal Skeptic
Experiencing own sense of incapacity born of doubt thereby fostering courage and freedom from the need to be hyper vigilant.

The Epicure is a Head Point.

Lost in paranoia, Head Points (Points 5, 6 and 7) have aversion to a world that they perceive demands too much and gives too little and so in the compulsion to feel safe, they lose their connection with their body and their capacity to sense and act.

In reacting to this, Epicures withdraw from the world they have an aversion to by seeking to connect with pleasant options which demand little and give a lot as a way to protect themselves from danger.

Epicures are playful, inventive, and imaginative. They are energetic and optimistic, real “lovers of life”. They see the possibilities in situations, are great brainstormers and big picture planners. They define the word adventuresome.

Epicures can have difficulty keeping commitments and be preoccupied with themselves. They sometimes trivialize others’ suffering. They are easily distractible and can easily feel trapped.
