Did you try turning it off and then on again?

I agree with everyone telling you to clean it before buying anything. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T580, it's excellent. I also bought it from Lenovo directly, I've found the prices to be better from the manufacturer than anywhere else.
I like to rock n' roll all night and *part* of every day. I usually have errands... I can only rock from like 1-3.

I have an Asus that I got in about 2015. I don't know the exact model though. But I've been extremely happy with it.

What are you looking for in a laptop?
    Always forward, never back!

"I always love talking to people and hearing their story. People always have a good life story to tell ya know?"

Today is the beginning, and tomorrow is the beginning of everything else.

Smile, because it's all you can do instead of frown.

So if you're looking for value but good working, I actually loved my Lenovo notebook laptop I had.

I currently have an Alienware 15 R3 now though since I wanted to play Sims 3. It is great too.

Kinda depends how intensive of a computer you need.
These were the lovely bones that had grown around my absence:
the connections—sometimes tenuous, sometimes made at great cost, but often magnificent—that happened after I was gone.
And I began to see things in a way that let me hold the world without me in it.
The events my death brought were merely the bones of a body that would become whole at some unpredictable time in the future.
The price of what I came to see as this miraculous body had been my life.

Stating your budget and screen size, will help to narrow the field.

    My general advice is :

If you frequently play games or do anything else computationally intensive, high-end laptops.

If you don't, low-end to average-end laptops depending on the frequency of the use.
I often say "psychological impact" because it's a central concept to me.

Seconded. I have an ASUS and it's been running smoothly for 5+ years now.
