Just as there are four laws of Thermodynamics, there are four laws of media.

I take advantage of the fourth law of media, called Retrieval.

By the fourth law a new media retrieves that which has been obsolesced.

So the new electronic media of Typology Central retrieves that which has been obsolesced. It retrieves ancient and old texts from obsolescence as PDF files in electronic text.

So almost no matter what the topic I end my post with click on a PDF file taken from the dim and distant past, hidden from view retrieved and revealed with the click of an electronic button.

Just click on Marshall McLuhan’s 4 Laws of Media Applied to Innovation | McLuhan Galaxy

So now everything old is new again.

I don't like when one uses opposite words to describe the very same thing

just saw an old Steven Spielberg-sizzle movie called Duo about a guy on the big old yankee, American road being chased by a truck driver. I've seen the same movie before with a different title and director. IT's good to go to the source.

This is what Hillman referred to as the puer-senex axis of archetypes bro! Mole

Yes, Duel, is a famous old Spielberg movie, click on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EXbeXTX4m8&spfreload=10
retrieved on Typology Central and made new.

And yes, Duel, is like the European Renaissance of the fifteenth century which retrieved the old classical art, architecture, literature, and learning from Ancient Greece and made it new.

Yes, Duel, is retrieved by the new electric media of today, while the Ancient World was retrieved by the then new medium of print in the 15th century.

Humans have short memories and a lot of us have a hard time understanding something we haven't directly experienced. A good recipe for repetition and of course; disaster.

Although not always mutually inclusive.

Humans have short memories and a lot of us have a hard time understanding something we haven't directly experienced.

A purpose of literacy is precisely to understand something we have not directly experienced.

And indeed the purpose of any medium is to understand something we have not directly experienced.

And those who have a hard time understanding something they haven't directly experienced are uneducated.

The Know-Nothing Party, also known as The American Party, operated on a national level for those who had a hard time understanding something they hadn't directly experienced.

It started off well but suddenly the yankee party split off from the point group and a took a nose dive down agenda avenue.
