Some I forgot to mention in the first post:
-headset, second mic for noise cancellation and sleep/wake on top
-microphone, connector and speaker on bottom

Jobs goes on about iBooks..

I like turning pages. I will never be sold on an iBook. A book is to escape technology not to be extremely accessible and easily distreacted!

It's not a matter of all providers not cooperating, ATT has contract with Apple so only they can carry the iPhone until 2012. ATT is a bag of dicks.

Well it's for the entirety of 2010, so perhaps it's a difficult point with potential vendors.

FacePalm only works over Wifi, which is bizarre when you've had phones in europe able to do video calls since 2006 and you can do it over a data connection with Fring for Android. Multitasking and subsequent tech spec upgrades were required to keep up. Didn't really see much in terms of big software leaps ahead, and didn't see much on what they're doing to incorporate "cloud" services.

Good stuff though. God I love tech.

haha facepalm

Yeah it's not a huge leap, but for someone that's never had an iPhone, much less an iPod (I use the shuffle), I'm out of my mind excited.

So oves the phone that came with my cell phone plan.

Still no OLED!
Imagine how much thinner and sharper it could be with that.

I need this. I've been good about not having to need all the latest electronics/technology, but this one, I simply NEED. I have the 3GS... Definitely gonna have to drop $200.

And how much more expensive.

I'll be one of the last people to buy a smartphone. I don't like being forced to buy data plans.

I wasn't nuts about having to pay $30/mo for data either, but I'm such a disorganized slob I really needed something to offload my brain into. Hence the iPhone, which is great for me because it can be everything: phone, calendar, music player, GPS, instant access to all human knowledge, etc. So I just have to not lose it and remember to put appointments into it, and I'm golden.

When I switched to AT&T from Verizon, I asked for a minutes plan that isn't advertised anymore. So we get something like 550 minutes to share between two phones and I added data for my iPhone, all for about $85/mo, which was about $10 less than we had been paying for just minutes to share between two phones at Verizon. We were able to get away with fewer minutes at AT&T because of the rollover thing- we have periods of heavy usage, but much of the time we're not really using them that much.
