In case anybody is interested, Hulu.com is hosting Carl Sagan's brilliant series Cosmos, which was originally shown on PBS in 1980. Production values and dated clothing styles aside, this show is still incredibly informative, and presented in a manner that even kids will find fascinating.

If you haven't watched it, I can't recommend it enough.

Hulu - Cosmos

Aw, that's pretty lame. Maybe there are ways around it? I wouldn't know.

No worries. There's always... the episodes on Youtube I found of it :) Don't know if every episode is available but it's a start. Thanks for making me aware of it.

Now... so much information, so little time to digest it all...

I love this series, I recorded it when it ran on cable a while back. Fascinating, and Sagan is one of my favorite authors. The book "Cosmos" might be my favorite book.

I've had a crush on Sagan for years. I love these, thank you for reminding me of something to procrastinate with.

Anyone want to pick a topic, and we can discuss it together? :D

Yay! :happy2:

Definitely going to watch it again. I watched it as a teeny-bopper and found it quite inspiring. It was a factor in inspiring me to want to become an astronomer (which I never did :( )

I read the book 2 years ago. Brilliant.
Then I bought the DVDs but I still haven't seen them all. There are 8 or so.
He was very good at pointing out how stupid we are :p
He was a bit of an odd bird in the world of science. more NF than NT I think.
He once wrote an anonymous article on pot (Mr X.), which was also incredibly interesting.
Very inspiring guy, despite his tremendously funny haircut :D
