I haven't done one of these in a while so I think it's time I started up again. I chose one of my favorite types, the INTP. So here is a list of famous INTP's.

Isn't Will Hunting ISTP? The character seems to be one of those rare sensing academic savants.

Of the ones I know, I don't think any are INTPs. Sherlock is INTJ for example.

There is nothing Te about Sherlock. I mean, you should be able to detect Ti just by spending one minute with him. Let alone several books, movies, and TV episodes. He likes to think every idea through very thoroughly and rarely trusts the world's systems and methods. He prefers his own way of doing things. Also his Ne is terribly obvious. He always lets unrelated facts factor into his cases and become useful. Ni on the other hand prefers to get rid of nonsense and keep only the information that makes sense to the subject that they are dealing. Notice that many times Mycroft (INTJ) will ask Sherlock something to the effect of " what in the world has that got to do with anything" when he mentions something random and applies it to a certain object that they are talking about.

So who else do you not think is an INTP?

I see Spider Man as more of an ENTP. Same with Huck. They both could be mistaken for INTP's because of how witty they are, but you can't forget that that is their Ne working. Spider Man and Huck Finn more more of Ne users than Ti though they do have Ti somewhere.

I like the idea of Treebeard being an INTP.

Actually there's a good many. It's just that so many of them are sadly mistaken for INTJs.
