Many of you might dislike ISTJ's, but I've always had a respect for them. And they are really cool in fiction. So to prove so I've made a list of ISTJ's in popular culture.

Who are some awesome fictional ISTJ's you know.

Heero Yuy is an ISTJ I think. I used to have a huge crush on him, and when I was trying to figure out what type he was, I think between everyone that talked about it we decided ISTJ.

I love ISTJs. More often than not, they're the character that can be described as "the jerk with a heart of gold". That's why they're usually my favorite characters.

John Casey from Chuck is a classic ISTJ.
Charles Winchester from M*A*S*H is a snob!ISTJ. (Still love him.)
Odo from Star Trek: DS9 seems like an ISTJ. Also probably Worf. He's all, "Tradition honor blah blah blah."

Also, I'm almost certain that Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec is an ISTJ.

If this isn't an ISTJ speech, I don't know what is.

I think ISTJ also fits some of the characters who "snap" in movies. Falling Down with Michael Douglas comes to mind Falling Down (1993) - IMDb Also totally agree that vigilante types appear ISTJ'ish Death Wish series for instance.

I thought Paul Kersey was portrayed more as a bleeding heart ISTP than anything else in the first Death Wish film. Not saying an ISTJ is incapable of being a liberal, just my take on Bronson's portrayal. He comes across as more ISTJ in the sequels though. He also comes off as an unhealthy 9 to me.

I could see him being ISTP but ISTJ could also be a good fit. I could see either type uttering the line to Rachel about only having a problem with replicants if they're a threat to society.

I think Hank is ESFJ.

Really? Ehh... I could see Peggy being an ESFJ, but not Hank. To me, he has always seemed like a clear ISTJ. He's pretty reserved, and not much of a leader. And he's super uncomfortable when it comes to talking about feelings.

But I'm open to other ideas. What makes you thinks he's an ESFJ?

As above, Aragorn from LOTR is also an ISTJ (9w8).

Aragorn is an ISTP. Unlike ISTJ's, an ISTP will listen to everything you say without filtering "useless" information. Of the two, ISTP's are more easily reasoned with. Also, you can tell that Aragorn is a lot more mysterious and laid back. Even when he takes charge, he does it without too much authority. You can tell that Thorin and Bard are more organized than he is.

After watching LOTR again just now, I've changed my mind about Aragorn. Like an Ni dom, he reads between the lines constantly, seeing the deeper meaning of information. No Si dom does that (or any sensor, for that matter).

Aragorn's an INTJ.
